I wish knew earlier that one store could transfer the product(s) to another store at the airport. I was considering buying a GP36 at the boutique on the 4th floor (Gate G). The SA was very kind and attentive, but the store only carried bright colours. I told the SA that I wish the bag was in a neutral colour.

Afterwards, I went to the one on the 5th floor (Gate H) and two Chinese SAs assisted me. I kindly asked if I could compare the GP30 and GP36. I prefer GP30's size, but I really liked that GP36 was in indigo Negonda leather with a printed interior lining. I asked them a few questions about the bag, and after each question, they would make comments in Chinese between themselves. I've never met such rude SA's in my life. Even though I wanted to buy the bag, I didn't want to give the rude SAs my sale. If I knew the store on the 4th floor could transfer the bag from the 5th floor, I would have happily bought it from the nice SA.
 sorry you had a bad experience at the airport! I have gone to the Munich store quite a few times in the last couple of years and have always gotten good service. It's definitely the luck of the draw. I would've done what you did - not giving the sale to the SAs!

Noted there's no K or B at the hermes airport stores for sure. But have anyone spotted any Constance at Munich airport H stores?
It happens but on very rare occasions and usually very early in the morning (I am from Munich and am in the store quite frequently when going on business trips). Should be the same as with most H airport stores. Staff won‘t know what and when it arrives and also won‘t take reservations (anymore).

Lets see how lucky I would be when transiting Munich airport in August. I hope I could get at least silk'in compact wallet if not any bag

Crossing fingers for you! It's always hit and miss - sometimes I am surprised by their offer, sometimes it's simply disappointing. Hope you will score something lovely (maybe even a C).

Hi all,

Are the prices at the H store in Munich Airport already duty free, or do you have to claim a VAT refund separately after your purchase? Thanks!

I did not shop at the Munich Airport before but I was at the Frankfurt airport so maybe the situation would be similar? From what I recall, when I made a purchase I had to pay the full amount and the refund paperwork was filled out at the store for me. Then I had to go to the VAT refund office in the airport, which luckily was nearby, and get my papers stamped. Then I went back to the Hermes store and received the tax refund in cash there.

Thanks so much for the info @allure244! Interesting that the tax refund is given from the Hermes store after receiving the stamp from the office. I am usually accustomed to going to Global Blue offices so this is a nice surprise. Do you recall if Hermes gave you the full value of the VAT refund back or took a percentage like you'd find at Global Blue?

Thanks again!

I was in the Munich airport store Term 2 departure ~ Gate G a few days ago and they had just received a large number of silks & shawls from the AW 2019 collection. Also had belt straps in the rouge de couer/bleu du nord and rouge de couer /rose azalee for 32 mm. Don't know about bags as have no interest.

Just back from Europe. On inbound bought several things at the H-Munich Airport store in Term 1. On departure from the EU via FRA, duly got the receipts & the VAT form stamped by the Customs officer, but since I had bought in Munich had to mail the forms back to the Munich address ex NA. Just reviewed my Visa statement and realized they had CHARGED my cc for the VAT & NOT given a refund. Now I have to follow up with Visa & the Munich boutique customer service (phone on the VAT claim) and hopefully straighten this our but what a hassle. Thankfully I photographed all the forms with the Customs stamps before I mailed them. Away, just a word of warning from my experience with the Munich airport Hermes - make sure you check your cc statement when expecting a VAT refund. This is a first - I've never had a problem with VAT refunds before (except that it can take a loooooong....time e.g 11 months for Namibia).

Sorry to revive an old thread. My husband has a long layover in Munich, and I asked him to go to Hermes and ask about a Picotin 18 or 22. What are the odds that he’ll be offered one?
