Was reading the posts in a thread re this bag. So I brought mine home today and was happy until I read about the quality issues. I didn’t inspect the bag prior. After going over it I did notice the thinness of the canvas. On the larger Pochette like others monitored I see the puckering on the bottom. And I noticed the zipper area looked stretched. So I’m wondering if you exchanged your bag because of this did you ever get a well made replacement in a reasonable time. I’m trying not to be upset but I think I am.

Yep my larger pochette had the Puckering and seemed thinner too. But since wearing it, the puckering evened out so not as noticeable anymore. I decided to stop micro analyzing every little thing and just enjoy wearing it. But if it bothers you then you might want to return or exchange it.

Generally it’s not an issue but when the canvas doesn’t sit right on the seams and the zipper is wavy because the canvas is very pliant that’s makes me think the soft canvas is at fault. I will make a decision. Thanks for your opinion. All are welcome.
My statement about the thickness of the canvas is not an opinion. It's a fact.
As for the construction of the bag, that's a different issue, which I have not addressed in my post.

Well, the forum these days can really boost (most of the time unnecessary) doubt in our products.
Very happy I did not discover the forum until after developing extensive experience with the brand, or else i’d prob only have 2 products and grey hair right now over made up quality problems.

I don’t understand why the thickness/thinness of the leather or canvas cannot be considered as a quality issue. Could you please clarify? I’m new to lv but have read enough on this forum about how the canvas was thicker years ago and bags would hold their shape much better. And after reading all of this it does feel like the brand might be looking for its ways to lessen the cost of production and the thickness of the canvas is one of this ways. I’m completely speculating right now :)) since I don’t have bags to compare, but to me the thickness of the material is definitely considered as a quality matter.

P.S. I’m not against the brand by any means, I actually just bought the fav mm and stalking another bag. Just interested in your opinion.

Louis Vuitton uses (and has for many, many years) different thicknesses of canvas to accommodate different designs. Certain items have also a backing layer between the canvas and the lining, which affects the perceived thickness. This has nothing to do with “cutting corners” as some members claim.

The true issues of quality seem to come from design flaws that prompt premature wear and tear, such as folded canvas corners. This is where people should be more vigilant.

From what I can see it should come out. Try putting it in a sunny window. When the canvas is warm it will become pliable and you can try smoothing it with your hand if it hasn’t already come out. Then stuff it (not overstuff it) and let it cool. Doing so should retain its shape. Canvas is malleable when exposed to heat. Should the canvas ‘cool’ in a smooshed state it will appear wonky like this.
