Mulberry Pre-Loved

Thanks for the response. I have been scrutinising the pictures they put up and I feel not enough information is given. Nor do I feel they’ve done a good restoration, it does look like bare minimum work.
Hi, I’ve bought and most photos rarely match their written description which is in the main always ‘fair’. For example on one at the moment it’s says ‘heavily stained exterior’ but you cannot see it in the photos. The blue Dorset and a taupe like Freya show issues but most don’t show the issues in the written section.

Has anybody bought from the Mulberry Pre-Loved section yet? What are your experiences? Have you had to send it back because it wasn’t as good as the pictures showed? Did it have a bad smell?
Do you come here to authenticate prior to purchasing the used bag? I am new so I cannot post yet but I need to post a mulberry bag to see if it’s real

Hi, and welcome!

The thread linked below is the thread you require......please see post 1 of that thread......

Look, I hate to be a hater *but* what are the folks at Mulberry smoking?

£575 for an Alana described as Ginger but which is clearly a Cognac and Almond?

Setting aside the question of whether anyone should pay £575 for a bag in 'Fair' condition, I'd be massively disappointed if I thought I was buying a rare example of a Ginger Darwin only to find out I'd been duped. If Mulberry want to encourage interest in the sustainability of their brand then they are going to have to do better than this.

Having an opinion which is explained fair and balanced doesn’t make you a ‘hater’ or for you to be ‘hated’. That’s exactly what is wrong with ‘social media/online platforms’. You make a valid point, and not one that hasn’t been raised.

I also think it’s outrageous yet have traded in 5 bags myself. There is currently/was a second hand light blue Darley and a mini Anthony for sale. More or less the same, colours slightly change each year, but same bag used was more expensive than a new one in the sale. 🤷‍♀️. Biggest issue with trading your bags in was they removed the ability to use them at the Outlets via digital appts without notice or explanation. I asked for an appt at Bicester, Cheshire Oaks and an actual Digital Appt 10 days ago. Nothing. The service was great during COVID and it’s gradually got worse since. For me anyway….and I did buy. If Outlets are not an option for you for a variety of reasons, and you are unfamiliar with the Brand esp as EBay is littered with screaming fakes and they do nothing even when reported, then for some this ‘used’ option it’s going to feel a safer option?? Maybe? Many sell but not all. The blue Dorset which is damaged in my opinion, not fair, hasn’t moved in at least a year.

They need to get forumites on board to check over these listings. I appreciate it’s impossible to know every bag, but this clearly isn’t a ginger and that should have been flagged up well before the listing went up. £575 is also more than I would personally pay for a used Alana, that’s more than she was new.

I know the whole thing is just weird. Mulberry needs to manage this part of their business better. The level of customer service @MrsPenners reports (in respect of confusion about how store credit can be spent) is pretty dreadful.

I would have thought there is a lot at stake here: buyers of luxury goods are pushing for greater accountability from big brands. I think Mulberry's pre-loved section is complete genius because it allows Mulberry to capitalise on their best design era (Vevers imho) without its presence intruding on their current design model. So the question is - what's stopping them from getting this right?

I do agree but i will share my recent purchase via the pre loved site.

An Amberley Satchel, 30cm width, Mulberry or Dark Green. It came with an additional Iris handle which must have been purchased separately. It’s something I’d done with my own larger Amberley and have a few handles so was looking for another slightly smaller. A bit of research and I think, I’m no expert, the price was higher yes but not by much when you consider the handle and that it has been bought from Mulberry itself should I wish to sell on, or return should I want to. I paid £475. The longer crossbody strap is still wrapped up behind in the photo, I just took a quick photo to show my daughter.

I am ALWAYS looking, it’s become a habit as I have vouchers, and there are some reasonable buys but they are very few and far between. Worse still, they go more or less the same day listed. I’d seen a black but went back to buy it and it had gone. That was £500. Lastly, I used my Mulberry Exchange vouchers so I’m quite happy. Further to above, the fact that my outlet appt requests were ignored, never happened before, niggled me so just saw it bought it liked it 🤷‍♀️

The prices for pre-loved are utterly fantastical - I'm amazed anyone purchases this way.
It’s odd because there are some bargains, but they disappear quickly - I suspect to resellers - as well as the extortionate prices. There’s an Alana at £950 right now, not sure where they’re getting that value from, it’s about double what she cost new.

Ah, okay I haven't seen those but I'm not on the site that often. The £950 Alana is what triggered me! They cost nowhere near that new - surely it should be priced about £300 mark?????

Using the iris handle is an amazing idea..I have an Amberley and never thought of this, need to figure out what size mine is.

Hi, I bought 2 off Brand Alley, £35 each, one marked small the other just ‘handle’…..both the same size?? Confused me. I had a large Amberley and it fitted fine. The Green is 30cm. You could buy larger O rings off Amazon to give you a bit more space. My daughter has done it with her Sadie. The middle section of the strap comes off and you can replace it as per the Amberley. Just add the O rings. 👍
