I was a broke college student that had just become aware of Hermes at the time. I was visiting a friend and her mom had just bought an etoupe Lindy 30. It was alone on the formal dining room table on top of its big orange box. Of course that bright box caught my eye and it was my first encounter with an Hermes bag! The way it just melted in on itself in the most graceful manner was unlike any other leather I had seen before. I couldn't help myself from stealing glances at it whenever we walked by the dining room. I'm sure my friend thought I was crazy but she never said anything.
It was just an 'ordinary' H bag, but to me, it was spectacular.

Some breathtaking bags seen on the shelves have disappointed me when tried. I am thinking of me when I'm looking and buying rather than putting it under glass.

All my on H bags take my breath away or I wouldn't have bought them. M BB Escale 'ships wheel' is an absolute masterpiece. A gold and phw wheel opens the bag at a single turn, and the flap is a stylistic clashing 'wave'. My BBK ghw is another masterpiece, as is my only croc ghw and my RH B Bolide 35 & & &.

Ultimately, I suppose my Swift Bambou Plume 32 is where I literally couldn't help myself. I could have bought the Havane or Sanguine Alligator Lisse versions instead very easily, even my SA was surprised I turned them down in favour of the 'normal' leather. The Plume had a couple of seasons revival and the Bambou was very unlike the vintage Plumes I'd seen.

You have to remember that in 2014 it was very hard to find any green bag, let alone a bright Spring green.

I've never seen a toile H bag before, let alone a toile H that has a blue thread. It was stunning. The way that they made this highlights the shape of the Kelly 28, which I think has the best proportions out of all the Kelly sizes.

I went back to FSH the next day to check it out again. I was so obsessed.

I still think about this bag once in a while. The SA at my home store told me this bag is seasonal, and I saw it last summer, so I need the help of the universe to get it
I saw somebody looking at a black version last year, it was all I could do to stop myself staring at it. Unsurprisingly, she bought it…

One of the bags that stuck with me was a mini chaine verrou in rose poupre and phw that was the first H bag I ever got to touch. It probably isn't the most practical, but the closure is so artistic and pretty whole also being incredibly contemporary.

I haven't actually seen that many H bags in the wild. Saw a mini k the other day, not my favorite colors but it was SO SMOL AND CUTE.
