Okay ... so now that I've 95% decided on the pear shape, I've finally gotten prices back on the two different ways they could make the pendant and I'd love your input!

It doesn't exist as a pendant yet so I'm including pictures of rings/a link of a custom bracelet to show you what it could look like!

The diamond is a fancy intense yellow diamond, .94 carats.

Style #1 - yellow pear diamond surrounded by single row of white diamonds and held in place by four yellow gold claws (like the rings below) $14,800

Style #2 - yellow pear diamond surrounded by single row of white diamonds and held by a yellow gold bezet around the yellow diamond (like the picture of one link of the bracelet from the tiffany website below). $16,600

Which would you choose and why? At this point price IS a consideration as I don't want to throw away $1800 just for fun... but after spending that much I certainly don't want to regret it!

Option #3 is still a solest .84 fancy vivid pendant for $12,400 or a .74 fancy intense for $10,500... but EVERYONE I ASK says go pear!! I have to admit aesthetically I think the soleste does look better as a ring so I think I'm sold on pear. :) THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

I prefer the look of option 1 for a ring -probably because a ring should have claws or prongs, but for a pendant I think option 2 may look more clean. Does that make sense? Either way, the pendant is going to be STUNNING!

I'm going to switch it up here and say #1. I think the diamond becomes (although ever so slightly) concealed in a bezel. I think the claw shows off the entire diamond and matches the prong settings of the rest of the diamonds. Can't go wrong either way though!!

I think #2 looks better but as a non-jewelry pro, I would assume it was a yellow colored gemstone and never imagine that it was actually a diamond. The prongs feel more "diamondish" to me. If it were me, I would save money and get a non-diamond yellow gemstone (like a Tourmaline) but have the same look. It really is beautiful though! Good luck deciding!

Thank you ladies!! I love hearing everyone's input!

I went to study the bezet and non soleste ones yesterday and have decided I definitely want the cleaner look of the claw setting... somehow more hollywood, less modern? Definitely more potential to have it go wrong with the bezet AND it's more expensive to do it.

Here is a shot of the diamond that they are going to use! (they have to take it out of this setting obviously!)

Very beautiful.

In my opinion, the bezet acts like a "frame" around the diamond. This in my opinion makes it appear a touch smaller gives it a more enclosed feel. Whereas, the claw prongs will really showcase the ring.

I'm excited to see the final product!
