I just got this bag and after playing around, I figured out a way to wear it crossbody and as a shoulder bag. If you still have it, and want to know how to do it, let me know
That would be great! I have not returned it yet but if I used a strap and wore cross body I could not figure out what to do with the straps since they do not detach......

CROSSBODY

Note: The left and right straps are when you look at them from the back, NOT when you wear them. You NEED a ribbon, scarf, bandeau, or twillon to do this. Twillies are too short.

The leather rings should already be placed on each strap as one (#1) between the end of the strap and the brass stud, and one (#2) between the brass stud and where the strap connects to the handle. Your backpack should have come this way. Be very careful not to have the rings slip off as you reconfigure the straps.

1. With the backpack's back facing you, grab the left strap's end and pull it through leather ring #2 on the right strap. Make sure that neither strap is twisted. Both studs will be facing "up."

2. Fold over the left end, and pull it through the left end's ring #1. Continue to gently pull the left end until the last hole (farthest from end) is aligned with the stud. Push the stud through the hole to secure the loop/setting.

3. Take the right strap's end and pull it through left strap's ring #2. You will pull this left to right, meaning you feed the right strap from the left opening of the ring, to the right opening of the ring. Make sure you don't twist the straps, so keep the right strap behind the left.

4. Fold over the right end, and pull it through the right end's ring #1. Continue to gently pull the right end until the last hole (farthest from end) is aligned with the stud. Push the stud through the hole to secure the loop/setting.

5. Gently slide the two loops away from each other. You'll most likely have to do this one loop at a time. You are essentially shortening the strap to your liking. For those who have neonoe, it's akin to sliding the strap as you go from crossbody to shoulder strap. Hold the strap from the top, to make sure that the two loops are in line (no weird bunching of leather straps).

6. Once you have the setting you want and there's no bunching, you'll see that the strap's ends are "free," since there's no ring holding them down. You'll also notice that if you wear the bag with the straps like this, the setting will loosen and lengthen the strap length. To counter this, wrap the center portion (loop to loop) with a fabric of your choice. Make sure to thread the ends of your fabric through each loop. This essentially "locks" your strap length into place.

SHOULDER

1. With the backpack's back facing you, grab the end of the left strap and loop it under and over the right side of the handle. Secure it to place by passing the end through the leather ring, and fixing the brass stud to a hole. Any hole works, but I prefer the one closest to the end. My drop length is about 15.5".

2. Repeat with the right strap, attaching it to the left side of the handle.

3. Grab the two loops in the middle, and the straps will slide over to meet in the middle. You're ready to wear the bag.

Note: If you want more secure loops on the handle, place two leather rings between the end of the strap and the stud. Make sure they don't slip off as you work on the straps.

**Please note, the Montsouris PM is not meant to hold a lot of weight. If stuffing your bag regularly means it will be heavy, do not get this bag, period. Where the straps join the bag is simply too small for the technical size of the bag, considering what volume and weight you can carry. In the same way, only wear it crossbody if you are carrying barely any weight. You only have two very small stress points that carry the weight of everything. The straps also dig into your shoulder when it gets heavy. My handheld game console + case is 0.62 kg/22 oz/1lb 6oz, and it's too heavy for monstouris pm to be worn comfortably.**

Is it possible you could upload pictures for examples?!

I'm not very keen on posting photos of my belongings on public places, sorry. I don't even post pictures of me + any of my bags ($ or $$$) on instagram, and my account is private and only friends and family follow me.

Next time I'm at LV though, I'll see if there's one to play with, and take pics to share here.

No worries! I don’t have social media etc so I get it.
My baby shipped today! Can’t wait to go pick it up next week from LV store, and play around!

I just received my Natural Montsouris PM today as a surprise from the hubs! I Adore it so much !! I've been on a search for the vintage montsouris for a while but couldn't find one in the condition I wanted. I also do own a Palm Springs PM and while I prefer the padded straps on the PM more, I love the opening of the Montsouris more. I'm 5'5 and I feel like the size is perfect. I do carry my daughters diabetic kit and still have room to spare which is nice and I dont have to fight with the opening and zipper of the Palm Springs.
I believe the Montsouris has the ability to crossbody if i saw correctly on someone's IG recently.
I'm not worried if it gains popularity as I dont care as long as I love the bag I'm wearing.

Hi ladies, wanted to ask for your opinions on the wear and tear of the montsouris bb? Am looking at getting one with the vachetta leather. Not sure if the treated leather means it will be more weather-proof? Prefer the look over the black one, but am looking for something fuss free.

I bought both the PM and the BB and ended up choosing the BB. I don’t really carry a lot on a daily basis, so the BB made most sense to get first. I am still considering the PM for later. The PM is only slightly bigger than the Palm Springs PM. A good size for everyday, but I think you might actually find it on the smaller size for travelling. It’s actually not that much bigger than the bb.

I have the Palm Springs PM and had the mini and I love the look of the Montsouris much more. Capacity-wise, mini PS and the bb hold the same. Functionality wise, the bucket style of the Montsouris is much better because everything is easily accessible. The mini has a front flap that only opens halfway down the bag (zipper doesn’t extend to the base). The rounded top of the mini means you have to reach through the front. So you can really only reach the front items easy. It’s a small bag making it a tight fit so trying to stick your hand in to pull something out can be challenging! It wasn’t uncommon for me to have to pull stuff in the front out first to get access items in the back our bottom. The mini’s front pocket is useless too so don’t count that as a bonus feature. The infamous lip over the zipper is the worst design flaw, but LV redesigned the bag late 2019, so if you buy one make sure to get the new one. The old design is impossible to open with one hand and the canvas cracks. My PM started showing cracking within 4 months of me owning it and I was very careful opening it!

I sold my mini PS for my bb. It just launched so only time will tell if it is as popular as the PS. Ultimately it comes down to personal taste. I think the PS is cute in a sporty, youthful way. The bb reminds me of the noe, still cute but in more of a classic, refined way. You can wear both bags multiple ways, but I find the mini always only looks like a backpack. the Montsouris looks like it could have been meant as a shoulder, crossbody, or backpack. I love the look of the Montsouris and the functionality is huge bonus.

How’s the wear and tear on the montsouris? Any canvas cracks where it cinches or corner wear?
