Who has monogrammed their bags........and who plans to get their monogrammed?

If you already have yours monogrammed can you include a pic/location of store.

I plan to get my saddlebags monogrammed as soon as I can figure out the locations performing them.

Sacramento. I was the first person to get it monogrammed today. They were nervous and sweating.

I'm very easy-going so would have made an error work. :) But there was no error, it's perfect.

Saddlebags are hard to get, I lucked out big time. But they will be back in stores supposedly November....

Have you had any luck getting yours monogrammed yet? I think most of the boutiques will offer monogramming in the next month or so. I think many boutiques on the east coast have the machines already... and west coast isn't far behind.
I posted a few weeks ago that the current machines can only monogram hangtags or small items. The new machines are to enable them to do bigger items. (i.e. like the flap of the saddle bag - as well as other large items). I think it's a new Coach thing to be able to personalize your bags.

Have to tell you again - your bag looks fantastic! After seeing you're Sacramento boutique has their monogram equipment, can't wait to call San Francisco to see if they do as well... and can monogram mine tomorrow!

So is monogramming essentially "cutting the tags"? I know some people hold their bags for a while to see if they really like them. However, I would think that once you monogram the bag, it is yours. If so, that is a smart move by Coach.

That's the way I think too. I can see monogramming the hangtag, but monogramming a bag basically makes it impossible to sell it - ever. I almost never alter my bags in any way because I know there is always a possibility I may want to sell them someday. It took me forever to remove the strap from my Poppy Spotlight, and I still made sure to do it in a way that didn't damage the strap so it can be reattached.

Yes, I am careful not to alter my bags, as well. IMO monogramming the "hangtag only" is a great idea. Coach could still capitalize by offering personalized hangtags. Some of us already buy their purse charms and/or fobs. Also, the hangtags could be interchanged like with the Legacy Duffle Kits.

I like how it looks with the monogram. I think it makes the bag more special. That being said, I probably won't do that again because I feel like the paint is splitting. It's a lil hard to capture.

Oh! And you can see the cracks in the paint they used. I think if I did it, I would go for a blind emboss (no paint).

The hangtag they did for me was gold leaf and it hasn't flaked off or cracked that I can tell.

I think this picture shows the cracks better.

So anyone else having this problem? Is it just me? My hangtag is fine. I think because the flap is more pliable and accessed more, it will be prone to this?

I just stopped by the Columbus Circle NY boutique (I'd forgotten to ask for the monogram originally) IMG_20171013_095245.jpg and they did this in a few minutes! There was a large selection of emoji and hangtags available (mine wasn't engravable due to the pattern.)

I used to think the monogramming was super cute. However, I have revised my thoughts on it after a really bad experience. I left about 7 hangtags with my local boutique to be monogrammed including several 1941 tags with the metal top. Whoever did the monogramming did an absolutely horrendous job with them and they looked terrible. I brought some of them in to show my regular SA (she wasn't the one that did them) and she was appalled at how they looked. She tried to clean them up but was not able to get them looking too much better. And since they were 1941 tags, I was not able to get replacements. So now I am very apprehensive about getting the 1941 tags or tags in special colors or treatments embossed. After that experience I would never have them emboss an actual bag. I am sure they usually do a great job with it and my experience was an exception and not the norm but it still bothered me quite a bit and so I think I might just stick to getting more generic tags embossed.

That's why I'm too afraid. It's like a bad tattoo. If they ruin a 1941 tag you are suck with it.
