Mon Purse - has anybody bought from them?

So...update on my order. I contacted Mon Purse customer service 5 weeks after placing my order. Their website said expect 4-6 weeks before shipping, but I just wanted to let them know that I'm leaving for an extended trip on Oct 4 so if there would be delays I needed to make alternate arrangements. Also, the camera bag that I'd ordered on "preorder" (4 weeks) was STILL showing up as preorder on their website, telling me there were production delays. Their auto-response said they were dealing with unexpected large volumes of inquiries and they'd try to get back to me within 48 hours.

It took almost 4 days to hear back but I got a nice response from a CSA explaining that she'd put a status update out on my custom top handle, and a few minutes later I got confirmation of shipping! Sadly, the preorder camera bag was back-ordered and would still take another 3-4 weeks, so I cancelled that.

Note they said the bags are "European-made" and the shipping confirmation on the top handle is from Istanbul, Turkey. This doesn't matter to me...I'm not personally convinced Italian or Turkish or Morracan leather is inherently superior...but I know it matters to some.

At this point, I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic that the quality will be there and I'll love my bag. I've been wanting a lady-like top handle FOREVER and could just never find one in the color/hardware/size combo at a reasonable price. I even considered spending a bit chunk of the proceeds from my home sale on a Dior Lady or H Kelly thinking it would be my "forever" bag but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. I like that Mon Purse bags aren't "knock-offs" - they are original styles - and they're minimal, and I'm supporting a small start-up company that is upsetting the "designer" industry ;-)

I have a tote in my shopping bag, but I just bought a bag from Macy's yesterday, so I don't know if I can really justify another purchase. :sad:
 
Just wanted to give a quality update now that I’ve been using the bag for about a month. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase, but one reservation I had when I first felt the leather is that it seemed thin, kinda plasticy, like those designer knockoffs you buy in Italian markets. Interestingly, this concern has shown itself to be both true and not true.

I’ve been using the bag a TON during travel and NOT babying it at all, and for the most part the leather actually seems to starting to feel softer and thicker, almost like at the beginning it was just rigid from construction. BUT on the downside, it is clear the leather isn’t super durable and that the color isn’t fully saturated. The corners have really taken a beating already. Though I know this style with this type of corner seam will always eventually show wear, it has shown wear much more quickly than any other bag I’ve ever had - from Coach to Wang to Ferragamo.

I do love the style and it is super practical, easy to use. So I think I will just have to be a little more careful and find some type of sealant/protector for the corners.

I really don't think that is good enough and I would be approaching them to fix this, personally. I have just ordered my first bag from them and if I have similar issues I will definitely be taking it up with them.
Please don't think that I am criticizing you in any way. I just think that you are entitled to use your bag fully for well over a month without wear issues like this. :heart:
 
Hi, I just received my Mon Purse maxi card holder and here's my first impression.
The leather is soft but feels a bit thin. The color seems very dull in person and the leather smells a bit cheap. I'm a bit disappointed with this purchase. There's also a black stain at the corner which I'll just bear with it since it's not very obvious. I think this will be my first n last purchase from them.

You’re right...I should contact them. I'm just not sure wha a resolution would be but I guess leave that up to their customer service department. I think it’s an issue with their grainy leather and wonder if it is worth trying the patent leather....LOVE the camera bag. Sigh...
 
I ordered the top handle bag. It took about 6-8 weeks to come and I was a bit disappointed. The bag didn’t smell like quality leather like say mulberry bags do. I put it away because I was unimpressed however I just pulled it out and I’m going too carry it since I bought it. Hopefully it’ll wear well and I won’t fell like a sap for buying it

Awful company, leaves you stranded without a product or refund!

I would strongly advice anyone not to purchase anything from this company. Mon Purse to not treat their customers correctly!

I ordered a made-to-order clutch in October 2019, with an estimated delivery time by Christmas. After many delays in production, then by the end of February 2020 they said that they were unable to deliver the item. I was then offered a full refund of 188 Euros, which I accepted via email in the beginning of March.

From that point onwards Mon Purse stopped communicating with me, I have sent several queries to them about my refund, but not a single reply from Mon Purse for over two months now. So still waiting for a refund for a purchase originally made in October last year, that is poor customer service!

Please stay away from this company, they do not deserve your business!
