My mother says she wants a Rolex. I asked her what she likes about it but she doesn't know. I think she only knows the name "Rolex." From what I can figure out she likes the every day look - no diamonds. I think the Datejust is what she's seen? I know also she likes two tone so she can wear it with anything.

My brother and I are not going to be able to afford a Rolex for her. What can we get that has prestige associated with it (I think that's what she likes about Rolex) but won't kill us? We have until September so we can save up. I'd like to stay under 2-3k.

I got my mom a Tudor for her 58th birthday but has been discontinued since then. She wanted the Rolex look but afraid to wear something so expensive. It looks like Rolex Datejust, fluted bezel, diamond markers except for the bracelet. I bought it for slightly below USD2k.

Perhaps you can search for a pre-owned Tudor. I'll try to search for some pictures.

Else get her an Omega Constellation, I think she'll love it. Omega are better made watches than Tag Heuer.

I actually like the Constellation...I could see getting her an Omega. B&M also has a two tone Diamant that you can get with no diamonds.

Here's the old Tudor ladies which looks like Rolex Lady Datejust. There is a slight difference between the 2 straps, my mom's watch has the same features as the second pic but hers is with diamond markers on champagne meteorite dial.

I really like Longines & Omega. For Longines I'd suggest PrimaLuna Collection (automatic), and for Omega De Ville (for ladies) Prestige 22mm (unfortunately the automatic is pretty exp in Omega).

I wear a 60's Omega De Ville Automatic, and I love it.

Thanks! That's pretty but honestly it looks like what she wears now (two tone), and if it's going to look just like that I'm sure she wants ROLEX on it. :p She can be kind of funny about designer names sometimes.

Are you looking for brand with their own movement only? Omega's and Tag's have a few watches with their own movement but generally those that do cost more. have you considered a Chanel J12 watch, some of those are nice, not sure about the movement though.
