Moissanite or Diamond studs

Why not do both? You can often find pre-loved moissonite earrings in gold on diamond bistro for a god price. Then, you could get a pair of studs from somewhere that has a good upgrade policy. Just be sure to get well cut stones. Color and clarity don't have as much to do with nice diamonds as having good cut proportions does. You can upgrade at a later date as funds allow and just trade the old stones back in. You won't be able to do that with moissonite.

As for looks, I don't know much about the more recent moissonite varieties but I have a pair of studs from years ago and they have this sort of splintering in the refraction, kind of like zircon (the stone, not cz). I guess it is called double refraction. Small stones were ok, but the strange bi-refraction would have bugged me in anything larger than 4mm. Maybe now they found a way to negate it? I don't know how, because I thought it was a property of the material and not cut.

I have both diamond and Mois in earrings and a 2 carat solitaire that I bought 7 years ago. To tell you the truth I wore them for about a year because I loved the sparkle but still prefer my diamonds 100 times more. Maybe mine aren't the best stones, I don't know, but they have a tiny bit of a green tinge to them, I don't think anyone else would notice but it really bothers me so I always go back to my diamonds and the other has sat in my jewellery box for six years now. But like others said it depends on your situation, if you want something right away then go for them, especially the studs, I wouldn't buy a ring or anything else in the Mois again.

I prefer diamonds. I really can't say why, I think it's a combination of things (the fact they are natural rather than man-made/lab-created; and the marketing/prestige factor, too). I have a moissanite ring and I do love it, but I can't help but see it as somehow 'less special'.

I'd like some larger studs (I currently wear 0.5tcw, 0.25tcw and 0.10 TCW pairs in each ear) of around 1tcw. I'm looking at moissanite ones until I can afford diamond, but may just hold out for diamond ones as moissanite ones can still be fairly pricey

It's really just personal preference, though.

I sold my diamond earrings and bought Moissanite. I like the Moissanite better. My engagement ring is a diamond. I don't see the need to wear diamond jewelry other than my engagement ring when the Moissanite looks so good and holds up as well as it does. I would rather spend my money on other things. I wouldn't fault anyone for wearing diamonds if that's what he or she likes, but I'm glad the Moissanite are around for me to enjoy.

The Forever One Moissanite is very white. That is the newest one.

I have a pair of moissanite earrings that are 2 carat total weight. I love them and in the ears I don't think you can see the difference. I would choose the moissanite. I got mine in a white gold setting.
