Just as a matter of interest, is this case still on going? I've had a rather strange telephone call looking for someone with the same name as myself asking if I worked in Harrods 20 years ago? I was evasive and extremely perturbed that my contact details were apparently obtained from the electoral roll. More importantly why was the person going to so much trouble to find an ex employee with the same name? Caller blocked, reported to mobile network.

That is odd. If it was a legitimate call linked to the case, the caller should have identified him/herself and the law firm represented at the beginning of the call. It’s possible it could have been a friend/former coworker of someone who has the same name as you who was searching online to reconnect but found your information instead.

Indeed the person rang Friday 22nd November. No formal introduction just I'm looking to speak to ........... who used to work at Harrods 20 years ago. I actually didn't reply as wasn't happy to learn that someone had obtained my mobile number by some means, just by apparently looking on the electoral roll??

I hadn't heard of any ongoing court cases until browsing the net out of curiosity but strangely enough in one of the articles the person with the same name as mine was mentioned. By all accounts there are 140 people in the UK with the same name, the guy on the phone mentioned.

It may have been a nosy journalist attempting to find victims to write about to make a name for himself.

The electoral register in the UK may not be as secure or private as you would hope. I did a quick Google search and it appears that there is an open register that can be bought by any person, company, or association. It provides them with the names and addresses of those registered. The information I saw online did not mention phone numbers.

I was a teenager when Diana and Dodi died. I just vaguely remember Mohamed al Fayed raising a ruckus and accusing the BRF of complicity in the crash. Did he really believe it or was it a smokescreen to distract everyone from his own crimes?

I think he genuinely believed the royal family had something to do with it. Maybe he changed his mind later in life but at the time he was adamant.

Keep in mind, he never believed that what he was doing to those women was wrong, so there was no need for him to create a distraction. The entitlement of his wealth and status protected him.

It's a shame he died before justice could be served. Too many sickos like him in the world, unfortunately.
