I appreciate all the feedback and support from everyone. I spoke with the owner and I am waiting for them to fully assess the damage. I plan to ask to be compensated for the value of the purse and seek reimbursement of the approx 704 dollars I paid for services. Let's see what happens. This is an established business in NYC and they are family owned and operated. I am trying to be optimistic about them making me whole and doing the right thing. Wish me luck, dears!

I am so sorry. What they did to your bag is horrifying. I really hope they do the right thing - what you’re asking for is more than reasonable. Lots of luck, and please keep us posted. As a fellow NYer, I also appreciate the heads up, I’m just so sorry you’re having to deal with this.

Why didn’t you take it to Chanel to begin with?
She is on the older side and I wanted to try third party spa (and services) without the lengthy wait time of dealing with Chanel to restore her. Guess that bit me in the end, but it is what it is now.

As for an update, I am reunited with the reissue. She has been repaired and the plating is lovely (plating done by a third party). I would never go there again, nor recommend them to anyone else. This experience was eye openning.

Did the repair shop that ruined it at first give you some sort of compensation?
