Ordered the Convertible Flex Bag on March 15th and received it within a few days. I love it so far and have received a lot of compliments! Looking forward to using it a lot as the weather slowly warms up.

I love the Flex bag , it's so colorful and flexible and fun! However I am concerned that it may not fit in my daily essentials even though it looks like a big bag, so I turned to Naomi instead.
I bought it on Shopbop at USD 27X it's like 40% off. The bag's quality is higher than I expected, the leather seems good and smooth. The boxy shape of the bag seems to be even better looking than Loewe puzzle IMO!
I'm so happy with my purchase I have to sign up here and share it with you guys

Such great service!! Thank you for all the detailed shots. So good to hear you're happy with your experience! I love the color you chose too, more than the "multicolor." I'm stuck between multi and the new sand/white color! What do you think of the quality and leather?
I totally forgot to reply to this! My apologies!

As for leather quality, I still haven't had an occasion to take it out (I don't carry small bags to work, and last weekend was a mess of cooking for a Game of Thrones watch party). But handling it, I'm struck by the stiffness--this is a good thing to me--and by the fact that the lining is suede and not fabric. I kinda wish the black patent was black shiny calfskin, but eh. I've never been one to shy away from sparkly stuff, and it suits me just fine.

The included straps, both belt and crossbody, are not stiff at all; they are quite flexible and 'soft' even though one side is the same calfskin. I wish the belt was stiffer, to be honest. I bet that if I really wanted to, I could take it to a leatherworker and have it re-faced or re-backed or whatever the term is (although I have no idea). Still though, I would have hoped for a better 'belt' right off the bat. FOr $285 USD, though, maybe not. The opening for the belt is very small, though, so maybe a thicker belt would not work well.

I do plan on wearing this as an actual belt with some outfits, through belt loops of jeans that just refuse to sit where they should. However, I often picture wearing this just around the waist over a slim gray pencil-fit dress. I don't know if that seems weird, but it's the first outfit that popped into my head when I pictured getting and wearing the bag.

Honestly, I loved all the colorways (especially Jade), but the Mondrian-like palette of the Multi kinda sealed the deal for me. I do like the sand/white color SO MUCH and one of the reasons I didn't have a more difficult choice there was because I already have bags that fill that color niche for me. I know this is no help, ha.

Have you made a decision in the interim?

Hi! Can I ask you what your daily essentials are, and if you use SLGs to hold them? The Flex is one of the other bags that I really want to get from Mlouye, but like you, I carry an assortment of essentials (in various pouches) and sometimes it's hard to be parted from them when carrying smaller bags. Then again, it's nice to have the freedom to not be a freaking Girl Scout every day.

Hi! I just ordered it last Friday and received it on Monday night, couldn't wait to carry it on Tuesday, so I can only tell u my one day only experience with the bag hahaha.
I don't use SLGs and I can fit the following items in the bag (small things in the zipper compartment):
  • octopus card
  • lipsticks x 3
  • eyebrow powder
  • contact lens case
  • a pack of uncooked instant noodles (for lunch. I guess I can replace this space with lettuce or workout clothes, but probably can't fit both workout clothes and lunch)
  • a banana and a pineapple cake (for breakfast)
  • long purse
  • tissue paper
  • umbrella (finally, a bag that can hold it without sticking a part out of my bag )
  • earphone
  • keys
that's all. I believe this bag will get my hands free to work most of the days
One downside of the bag IMO, I was trying to look for a bag at this size without compartment, but I didn't notice that there's a PVC compartment in the Naomi when I purchase. And like the other mate said, the strap is not quite comfy at the moment, but I believe it will get better and softer with use.

Wow, that seems like the full size Naomi fits a A LOT. Hands-free is not to be overrated! Thank you for your review. I'll have to double-check the dimensions of the Flex--I bet it could fit most of your daily essentials too (although you're right that it could be deceptively large).

well, after a few days of use, I'd say workout clothes can't fit inside with my other daily essentials. Plus, sometimes it's hard to snap the bag closed even when I am not overstuffing. It takes two hands to close the bag.
Good thing is that light rain hasn't left any mark on the bag yet (it's been raining every day in my region lately). I don't baby my bags, but this is my first WHITE leather bag, I'll definitely baby it a bit more than my other bags, but still I took it out on rainy days lol (trying to test its limit).

I finally took my Naomi belt bag out today (Happy Derby Day!). The way my outfit came together, I decided to wear the bag on a belt high on my waist. I found the included belt to be a little bit too long for placement at the natural waist (it's a good length for wearing as an actual belt a little lower on the hips), so I used my own skinny black belt.

The bag didn't move around at all. It stayed in the same place around the waist, due to the tight fit of the belt sleeve on the back of the bag. I am pretty certain that it will flex and expand slightly as I use it more, however. The magnets are strong and close with a satisfying click. I got a lot of compliments

They aren't kidding on the website: it fits very very little, and you have to be absolutely strategic with how you pack it and what you put in it. It was a little tricky to remove items and replace them; I had to do it in order (phone first, then car key, then everything else). Here's what I had in there:
  • 5.5" mobile phone, with edge bumper and pop-socket on back
  • lip balm
  • card case
  • car key (but I had to take it off the keychain - no other keys would fit)
This is my first belt bag, and I really loved having my hands free, and not having to adjust a crossbody or hoist something on and off my shoulder. However, I did use my car to hold everything else that I needed today, so if you need to carry, say, medication (even in a teeny bottle), hygiene products, any additional cosmetics, literally anything else, you may need to do the same.

Thank you for the review!!! It makes me feel like I should get the larger one, but at the same time I can be quite minimalist with what I carry…hmmm…

My handbag budget for the next three months is spoken for, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a full size Naomi in addition to my belt bag (well I guess two now). I just adore the architectural construction and all the colorways. I want it in Jade! (Although there is still the Flex bag...I love that too).

If you prefer the extra space of the full size, but still like the styling, I would absolutely encourage you to take the plunge.

I wonder how the bag will hold up in long term. Any long term users can show us the wear and tear, and share with us your experience with mlouye bag?
I have 2 items from them (both no longer available): a small bird clutch and a foldable tote in tan leather. The bird clutch I use and abuse as a purse organizer/errands bag for the past 2 years. The leather still looks amazing and a zipper is nice and smooth. One issue that did occur relatively soon after I got it was cracking of the edge paint. When I contacted them about this problem, they profusely apologized, said it was NOT normal and gave me a store credit for full price of this bag. I used said credit towards purchasing a foldable tote. The tote is also holding up super well - the only small issue there is that it takes color transfer relatively easily. However, that leather is very different from the smooth calfskin that they use for flex/naomi, etc, so it may be a unique quirk of grain. Craftsmanship (stitching, lining, hardware) are all top notch otherwise.
TL; DR - Mlouye bags are great

I am entranced by the Helix Bag. I haven’t seen any reviews though. Anyone have (or seen) this bag?

I've recently bought Helix bag in white. I really like their customer service because it arrived just in 1 day and it was free shipping. The quality of the leather and the craftsmanship are really better than I expected.

It also has a shoulder strap but I like using handbags with top handle. I love the little hidden hinge so the top handle can fall down if you want to use it with shoulder strap.

The bag has a roooomy interior than it looks. I think I'll be able to store all my stuff.

I'm surprised to see how high quality the accessories are. I really liked its material.

I'll also add my new comments after I use it.

I recently bought the Mlouye Naomi shoulder bag but returned it. The bag was quite structured and boxy, no give at all. Just like carrying a box. The look was nice but I just prefer slouchier leathers. It was also hard to close as I had to use two hands to match up the magnetic clasps. The shoulder strap would also get twisted where it attached to the bag so I had to frequently adjust it. I thought it could be a dupe for the Loewe puzzle bag but found it was quite different despite similar appearance.

Hi,

I'm thinking of purchasing the Naomi shoulder bag. It looks pretty in the pictures, but I was just wondering if it is heavy. Usually with structured bags they tend to be on the heavier side. Appreciate if you could share your thoughts on this. Thanks!
