Mixing strap and bag hardware?

There’s also the fact that Hermès has electrum hardware nowadays which is mixed hardware (albeit it’s PHW and permabrass which I think is more subtle than the difference between PHW and GHW). At the end of the day though I think the only thing that matters is if *you* feel comfortable with it!

The strap had gold hooks while the hardware on the purse was palladium. It's fairly subtle as the hardware on a TPM is small in size, relatively speaking.

Thanks @xray! Could it have been that they put one of the straps that are sold separately on the bag and the hardware didn't match?
I've only known of mixed hardware on a clasp or closure, like those posted above by @momoc.

They were both in the same box and my SA pointed out that the hardware was different when she brought it out to show me... you never know with Hermès...

I had seen the Electrum on the 24/24, and those other bags are fantastic too. (I notice that both of the shoulder bags use PHW for the strap attachment, which suggests that the gold is more of an "accent" metal.)

I will share how things look when the new-to-me bag comes in later this week.

It is OK to mix metals. A lot of Fendi bags and straps come that way.

OMG. I really don't know what I was thinking. The bag came today, I put on the strap, and my immediate reaction was "NO!!" LOL.

The bag is Raisin, this is the strap:

It just doesn't work, and for some reason the gold appears even brighter to me against the raisin color. But it's OK - that strap is shown with a black 1923 and a K, both of which I have and will use it with (also possibly red and definitely etoupe). I also have a Jypsiere strap I can use with the raisin bag.

So here is the bag, with regular shoulder strap, and with the GHW wide crossbody strap I had in mind. On second look it's not as bad as I first thought, but I still think just using a matching strap from my Jypsiere is better.

It looks ok to me in the picture. The hardware is not very visible. I like how the purple stripe in the strap matches the raisin bag. That is what catches my eye. By the way, a narrower version of the strap with phw is on H.com now (https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/sangle-cavale-25mm-bag-strap-H073650CKAG085/)

@bagnut1, ITA with you, but I think photo number two has a lot of potential depending on your Particular style and outfit of the day.

Thank you both! I will give this a wear and see how it "feels." (I think a mashup of silver/gold jewelry will probably work best with it too.)

I love how much colour is in the strap. I feel like the last thing your eyes go to is the hardware!
