Mixing LV with Non-LV?

I would just use whatever I like, honestly. I wouldn’t be concerned with whether anyone else might notice. I don’t use scarves on my bag, but if I wanted to, I’d use LV or non-LV. I recently was gifted a beautiful handmade charm from Africa which I’m using on a DE tote. I have quite a few LV charms but I love this one and how it looks with the bag, and I’m sure it cost an extremely tiny fraction of what an LV charm costs, but that doesn’t matter. I very much doubt that an SA would care about that or about a generic unbranded scarf on your bag and if they did, who cares what they think?

Agreed. I will say my favorite SAs seem to enjoy seeing unique pieces, regardless of where they're purchased, because it gives them a better sense of my style.

Hey All,
Not sure of there is already a post about this, but wondering how you guys feel about non-LV accessories. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have everything I need and want in LV, but with the sky high prices, it's just not sensible. For example, I'm looking for a scarf/bandeau for one of my course handles. But I am not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on something that will only be wrapped up amd tied. On the other hand, will I be embarrassed having a cheap, generic one on there?? But why do I even care? I shouldn't...but I can't say it wouldn't cross my mind. What do you guys do?
I say use what you love and who cares! I have thought about LV bandeaus and scarfs but then figured if I was going to spend that much, I'd rather put it towards an SLG or bag.

I love it! You're absolutely right, who cares what anyone thinks!

I’m with everyone - use what you want how you want and rock it proudly! And whether you feel like you should care or not, it has been on your mind, and that’s ok. Try not to be hard on yourself about your feelings, glad you asked. We each have many feelings about out bags and accessories, otherwise we wouldn’t be on tpf!:P

One of the things I love here is seeing how everyone styles their bags - of any brand with any brand scarf, accessory, charm or otherwise (remember @boyoverboard and his fabulous bone shaped poop bag holder for his dog! Classic! And functional!!! :P) so I hope you will wrap your handles in your own unique style and get your next bag sooner. Happy New year!

I don’t think it matters what brand accessories you use on an LV bag (or any brand bag for that matter) as long as you like it. I have done both — put non-LV accessories on LV bags and put LV accessories on non-LV bags. I have even brought such a combo to the LV stores twice (once with a Laduree charm and another time with a pearl chain on my LV bags) — and I got compliments from a couple SAs both times . So no worries and do what is right for you

I buys authentic accessories such bag charms twillies straps etc to use on my bags if I'm going into mall / bontiques or meeting friends or in business meetings or pictured with my bags to sell, but I'm OK with using obviously non name brand bag charms twillys small items if takes bag for grocery shopping, gym etc, to save the "usage" on my authentic ones.

After losing a bag charm after a day of shopping or catching a twilly come undone, I'd rather use non-designer charms/twillies on bags. I don't use either anymore though :) I also don't mind mixing non-designer slgs with LV bags or LV slgs with other bags. I don't care what others say about my usage unless they want to foot the bill
