In Russia they are called Pavlovo Posad Shawls because they come from the Pavlo Posad Factory since around 1812...If you google Pavlo Posad Scarf and Shawl you will find a lot of information about them. THey are mostly made from wool and are very warm, I love them and collect them in many colours! THey are so beautiful!!!
