I have the Monceau and it is a lovely bag. From your list I have experience with Deadly Ponies. I have had three of them, the Mr Fill n Zip, the Mr. Mini Armadillo and currently I have the Mr. Siamese midi. Their leather, especially he deer nappa, is wonderful, really is top quality. The hardware is real brass (which makes their bigger bags a tad heavy, lol) and the shipping is fast. Another poster had an amazing customer service experience with them. I recommend Deadly Ponies highly.

Hi! I have the monceau as well, and while it's beautiful, I'm questioning the quality. Yours may be different, or I'm not used to this on my bags, but whenever I press down on the edges, like on the logo on the front, something peels away almost from the inside. Sometimes it sounds like glue peeling apart, and now there's a clear dent along the edges, and it's clear that the outer thin layer is just hanging out by itself and separated by the liner. Almost like they put cardboard as a liner to make the bag stiff? The same happened on the back as well.

Is that normal?

I only carried it a few times but never noticed anything like this? The original owner of the bag wanted it back, so
she now has it. I have not heard her say anything negative.

THanks! I contacted Ateliers Auguste (sent photos) and they said it's a defect, and are sending me a new one soon. I'll have to check the new bag to see if it's any different, but regardless, customer service is great.

I came across your post while researching the mini monceau. I’m considering the mini monceau bag. Have you had an quality issues with your replacement bag?

You can find non-logo bags in most brands including high end. For high end, my favorites are Fendi By The Way, most of the Chloe line (my favorites are Nano Hayley and Mini Marcie), Bottega Veneta Baby Olimpia Shoulder bag and the Mini Pouch bag. For more mid-level, I like Longchamp Le Pliage nylon for travel and the leather versions for regular every day carry. I like Polene Number One Nano. I like many of the Strathberry bags (Allegro Mini, East/West Mini, Stylist Mini). I like several Staud bags including the Pleated Leather Mini Moon bag, Sasha Chain bag, Scotty bag, and Mini Rey bag. For By Far bags, I like the Martin bag, Lora bag, and Mini Croc Embossed leather bag. Coach has some nice bags, my favorite is the Dinky bag. I would also check out the brand Gu_De. They have some nice bags and are very under the radar. My favorites from them are the Play Mini Tote and the Gemma leather tote.

It has been so interesting reading all your reviews and researching the different brands mentioned as I am also currently looking for a minimalist bag (European brands mainly).

What kind of bag would you recommend for fitting iPad Air 4, A5 notebook and small wallet and phone? I am really struggling to find bags that are in this size cos business bags are too heavy and all the smaller bags are too small.

Marco Massaccesi has several models that should fit the bill. And all his bags can be customized in a wide selection of leathers and linings - https://www.marcomassaccesi.it/
