Not sure where to post it so ill just make a new thread. I got the mini palm spring in Oct 2017. After a few months of wear, I've noticed fraying on the leather parts where he straps are hooked onto. I went in to see if they can repair a month before my 1 year warranty was up and they said it's a defect and I can get a new one. I went a few times but didn't like a alignment so I kind of gave up since I thought it's probably just normal wear and tear and even if I get a new one, they same problem might happen. This week I stopped by just because I was in the area and I was wearing the bag. I told them the situation even though it's been 1.5 year since I got my bag. Luckily they got a new one and let me replace it even though it's half a year past my warranty. This proves that LV stands by their products!

After I brought the bag home, I've notice the leather straps were different than the previous one. The previous was leather top and bottom, that's why there was fraying after usage. The new one was leather on top but canvas beneath. I guess canvas will prevent it from fraying. It's also a lot of harder due to the leather part being part canvas. I hope the attached pics help just in case anyone is palling to get a new mini palm spring.

Thanks for allowing me to share this long story.20190308_222053.jpg

Interesting! I wore mine last night and both my top loops are fraying as well as one of the decorative tabs on the front. I’m going to wear them out in the hopes that they’ll fix my bag vs give me a new. I picked this bag for it’s near perfect to me alignment, bright canvas, and canvas that felt nubbiest and thickest of the two I was comparing.... don’t want to open the alignment can of worms again! Hoping if I hold out long enough they’ll stop offering replacements and just fix the bag I have! Canvas inside is an interesting idea.

canvas has possibility to crack, leather is flexible and less possibility to crack. so it's hard to say which one will be better, I probably would rather go with leather than canvas. these fraying threads are normal (to me anyways), just snip snip snip snip... :P

Good point! But on all of mine it’s fraying AND the two layers of black leather (inside and outside) are separating with space in between. The glazing has come off the edges of these, too. I can get a pic later tonight.

oh, in that case, nothing beats getting a brand new one to replace that old one, try get the new one instead.

Wow my leather tabs on the straps have started to fray too and the tabs on the front show like glazing is undone. Am thinking should I bring it in too or just keep using til it gets worst. Mine is from the batches when it was first released. Ah wish it didn’t have this issues. Lol just want to use and enjoy the bag and not worry abt checking it. That’s why I have stayed clear of the PM

I was curious abt the leather chaps and checked my reverse psm. They did the underside using canvas on mine which was made late 2017. So far crossing fingers it has been good and not experiencing a repeat issue of the fraying.

Good to hear. I hope having the canvas on the underside will make it more durable.

Interesting. My bottom tabs have done this, with the black stuff coming off along the sides. Someone in another thread said it is supposed to do that (?) but maybe not? I just got mine in July and haven't used it a lot at all.

Its not. But it happens to the Psms I think either with the coating being too thin, so when it rubs it happens. Hence they call it “wear and tear”. I got mine after 3-4 uses so I was not happy.

I am not too bothered by it if it doesn't cause further damage to the loops. I'm keeping an eye on it.

This bag gives me major love/hate feels. I love it because it is so darn cute and easy. I hate that I have to worry about it and inspect it. Kind of worth it, though
