I feel like Chanel is limiting their “mini caviar” and allowing caviar for their bigger classic bags.
if they do release caviar in minis it’ll be a price increase. They’re just testing the waters it seems with these top handle ones. And so far it’s sold out, white, beige, and most of black. I don’t even think you can find black anymore. My SA told me the list was ridiculously long, it was hilarious!

I really liked them originally and preordered a gold one, but as soon as it came in I knew it wasn't for me. The strap length was pretty decent and I didn't mind the slimmer chain too much, but it is tiny (at least compared to what I had in my head apparently) and the top handle got in the way more than I was expecting. I feel like for as much as the top handle sticks out, they could have made it smaller or gotten rid of it entirely and just had more bag!

You don’t have mini bags? What did you expect it to be a size of a small and medium? lol it’s the same size as a mini rectangular!

Wow. Look, I’m not implying that anyone is wrong to like it for being this size … like any bag it will work for some people and not for others. I actually don’t own any classic minis, and either haven’t noticed them or haven’t paid much attention to them when I’ve been in-store, so the sizing is less familiar to me. I’m fully conscious of the fact that “mini” means smaller than small or medium, but when you’ve only seen something in photos it can seem bigger or smaller than it actually is in person, and to me the top handle made it look even smaller in comparison when it arrived. Didn’t realize this qualified me as “delusional,” but the more you know …

can tall and plus size ladies who bought this bag post a modeling shot?

i really didn't like the bag at first (and was very vocal about my distaste of this bag) but the more i see it, the more i'm getting used to it.

Yes, as I described, I am fully aware that "mini" means "a size below small or medium." In fact, I even know that the word mini is an abbreviated form of miniature (i.e., very small)! But what I struggle to understand is why people are responding to my post about being surprised at just how small it is is in a strangely defensive way. Have I unwittingly struck a nerve? I ask this sincerely.

I know I can’t be the only person ever on TPF to have a general idea of a bag’s size before buying without seeing it in person, only to be a little surprised when it actually arrived. I'm willing to bet there are plenty of folks out there who've ordered jumbos sight unseen, knowing that jumbo means "big," and then discovered it was larger than they had anticipated once they lifted the lid off the box. Jumbos happen to be my favorite size, but I don't feel like anyone needs to defend jumbos when this happens, and I don't think it means those people are delusional or stupid. It's okay. It happens. If I saw a post describing such an experience, I don't know that it would occur to me to reply with something like "well don't you know that 'jumbo' doesn't mean 'small' or 'medium'?!?" or even to say anything at all (although of course, this could just be another indication of how slow-witted I am).

I had no idea that simply remarking on a bag being smaller than I imagined could potentially upset anyone, and I apologize for burdening other TPFers by causing such great concern for my mental acuity. I will try to refrain from making similar comments in future, and I would advise those reading this to consider doing the same. We all have enough on our plates to worry about these days as it is.

i am so sorry that you received such negative reactions. i don’t see anything wrong with your original post and i don’t understand why the responds have been unnecessarily harsh.

It's just a bag- it's not that deep
