Why not both? 
With an infant, I would choose the Evie. Presumably you are also going to have a diaper bag and the Evie can just hold all of your essentials. I often put the Evie inside a larger tote so I can pull it out if I'm leaving my tote somewhere without having to worry about keeping track of my valuables.
The ML holds a lot, which I prefer now that my kids are older and I'm not always carrying a separate bag with their stuff.
