I really don't understand it. She clearly doesn't want to be seen as a child. It's not sexy. It's not shocking. It's just gross and unattractive. Is she going to be sticking her tongue out like this when she's 30? 40?

See...I don't think so..programs like "It Gets Better" and other suicide prevention initiatives are so important because suicide is such an issue in that demographic.

Miley and others can make fun of Sinead's comments all they like (and she can certainly be longwinded) but at the crux of - she's right. People who feel they shouldn't talk about or can't talk about their feeling for fear of reprisals...are most at risk.

Miley thinks its just about Sinead. Its not. By villifying both her and Amanda, she does it to others like them. All of which will go right over Mileys head OR she just doesnt really care.

I should have worded my comment differently--I didn't mean about her comments, I meant directing them towards Miley. Miley doesn't care and isn't going to get anything from it so Sinead is wasting her time. I think she's better off directing her letters and activism towards a general audience that may actually care.

Maybe no one would read them if they weren't directed at someone who is heavily in the "tabloids" or talked about on the internet a lot? I agree that it was pointless directed at Miley, but it did get people to read about what she has to say.

Why is Sinead even trying to get through to her? Miley's not going to listen. Even though I agree with what she said in her past letters, this 4th one was just pointless and just dragging on drama and gossip.

Sinead made some amazing points in her the first letter but these open letters are never a good idea. Even when there are valid points, it just comes off as distasteful concern-trolling and these celebs are never going to respond with a polite, "Oh thanks for that." Liz Jones did it with Rihanna and Rihanna reacted equally badly. Sinead should have simply contacted Miley's agent and personally sent her the letter of the concern if she was that worried about her, and then written an op ed for the New York Times or something about the issue of sexualisation in pop culture without calling out names.
