Probably because they just don't want to deal with the breakup. For them, the situation works--they avoid each other and don't have to deal with the whole press fiasco from a breakup. But after the VMAs I'm guessing things changed--he is probably less inclined to keep up the act and things most likely deteriorated to a point of no return/repair.
If he doesn't want to be with her he needs to man-up and break it off and move out!
It's so ridiculous when men do this nonsense.
As for is Miley sexy? I asked my DH he said, not really. She's too desperate.

They need to fire both their publicists, this is the stupidest thing I have read ever
if they had broke up back in August we wouldn't be talking about them anymore at all. In fact, they're just making it a bigger press fiasco by taking so damn long. Had they just already done it, it's be over and wouldn't have to deal with it anymore vs having 10 articles a week about it.
But I guess drawing it out gives them more publicity... I don't know. I'm sure there are things we don't know (probably legally binding things because I don't understand why Liam would stick around at all, IMO it's terrible for his image to be associated with her in the slightest)

Yes god forbid the image of the alleged cheater be ruined by a girl who wore skimpy underwear on a stage. I'm not seeing how Liam is such a prize here and the general consensus seems to be that she's clinging on to him by refusing to say if they broke up. Cat got his tongue?

On her style: “I feel like every girl is trying to have a beauty shot and prove that they’re ‘fashion.’ But I can be in white leggings and a white sports bra and I’m on a whole other level of **** that those girls don’t even get yet because they don’t know how to do it.”
On her haircut: “It changed everyone else’s life more than it changed mine.”
