The weird thing about Miley and her so-called antics is that I really don't feel that she's doing it for attention. I don't know, something about her just seems very real and refreshing, like she's just doing her own thing, being weird/quirky/slightly skanky if she feels like it, while still maintaining her grip on reality.

But Miley Cyrus has opened up in a new interview, insisting that most views of her are entirely misconceived.
The 20-year-old singer posed in a pair of white knickers, black heels and leaf print top as she said that the party girl image she has obtained over the years is entirely unfair.
She said: 'People have this misconception of me that I'm just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I'm just this ratchet white girl, and I'm not.
'I work really really hard, I'm just in a different environment. I'm young and living and in LA which is everyone's dream, you know.'
Miley also said that she had considered dropping her surname and going just by her first name, but eventually decided against it.
She said: 'I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there's something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name.
'I'm living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it's just like this is what this name is now.'
Miley has reinvented herself since the release of her second studio album back in 2008, and has already enjoyed huge success with her new single We Can't Stop.
The catchy track has already shot to the top of the UK iTunes chart, and has the biggest pre-orders online of the year so far.
It also looks likely that Miley will get her first UK number one with the track in next weekend's charts.

The thing that makes me feel like her persona now is just her trying to get attention is that the transformation was overnight and it was a pretty dramatic one. Right before she cut her hair and she had the bob she was dressing Urban Outfitters-esque (really nothing too outrageous.) Then she cuts her hair and all of the sudden she's all "LOOK AT ALL THESE DESIGNER THINGS I WEAR! IM A FASHIONISTA! EVERYONE COPIES ME! WATCH ME TWERK! ME AND SNOOP DOGG ARE BFFS CAUSE WE LOVE WEED. I LOVE WEED! LOOK AT MY GRILL!"
I guess my point is she's super obnoxious and is constantly trying to prove she's this and that which just makes it look so much more desperate.
I found her particularly obnoxious in this video trying to prove shes this amazing trendsetter/fashionista.

I'm the same age as her and i don't know anyone who's going through a similar phase right now. I had my phase when i was 13(thinking i was 'gangster'). I swear kids in Hollywood have delayed maturity. Justin Bieber is another good example. They seem to stay 'innocent' till about 18-19 and then all of a sudden go off the wall. By the age of 20 you should have already gone through your embarassing rebellious teen phase. I've noticed that celebs don't seem to get to that phase till their late teen/early 20's.
Eh, I think most college kids are in a pretty embarrassing phase LOL. Although I think Hollywood kids are just like those kids who are really sheltered and don't have normal teenager experiences and then go off the deep end when they finally get out on their own in college so I see what you're saying by that.
