Hi all! Just wanted to get your input into this. Do we think micro/mini bag trends are still alive and going or do we think they will be phased out slowly and larger bags returning.

I myself love mini bags and love their cuteness, size and so light weight and it forces you just to bring your essentials. However I can also understand that they can be expensive for their size and totally unpractical as well.

For me especially during Covid I have downsized a lot and just reaching for easy grab and go bags and smaller ones too for ease of use. Also with cute bags such as the fall in love psp coming (China release only), that’s super cute too.

If you have any micro/mini bags would love to see some pics so please post your eye candy here for all to share. Enjoy!

I don‘t understand that hype at all and I also don‘t use Micro bags.

I might understand that some people prefer smaller bags as they don‘t carry so much anyway or if you are just running a quick errant.

For daily use, I think they are pretty useless (micro and mini bags) and their size are awkward and not fashionable at all (micro bags). For items like Airpods or lipsticks, I don‘t need an extra mini bag.

However, if there are people who like that size I don‘t mind seeing them being sold.
But they will not be for me.

I think the trend is still ongoing but will eventually fade (much like the mini backpack trend came and went in the 90's and have returned again). But at the same time, I don't think mini bags will go away since they have always been around, brands will just focus less on them. I always went more towards small bags and never had issues finding something.

I think it depends on how mini we are talking about here. There seems to be three categories to me, mini, extra mini and micro. I believe the mini trend will stay, as well as the extra mini that are big enough for your phone, those always existed and I feel people tend to need to carry less now. Many mini bag are not that different in size to small or wallet on chain anyway. We may see less of them in the future, but they will always exist. However, the micro trend I am not so sure on, I don't think I have seen anyone wearing them. The micro jacquemus one are so cute, but I do think they are a trend due to the popularity of mini bags. Below are some of mine, with the exception of mini pouchette, they are all big enough for the essentials for me.

I think mini bags remain an affordable opportunity to dive into luxury. For that reason I see bags like Chanel minis or LV pochette accessories definitely staying for the long run.

The trendy mini bags or micro bags may be cute now, but I expect them to be gone in 1-2 years...

I used to own Nano EVERYTHING. I had the trifecta even - Nano Speedy, Nano Noe, and PS Mini (it's kinda the same). Now I only have my PS Mini left. I let go of the Nano Noe a long time ago, and just recently let gomy Nano Speedy (which I loved to death).

The Nano Noe had to go because I liked the Nano Speedy more - but when push came to shove recently, even though I love the Nano Speedy as a whole, the opening and not being able to fit my iPhone 11 plus comfortably was getting to me... plus I have the Speedy BB Ink which is really the best "mini" bag because the opening is great, and it fits a lot more than the Nano Speedy. And I like the idea of curating my collection so having two "mini" Speedy's was not really my thing.
I could not let go of my PS Mini because I just adore that bag and it was my first ever LV that I bought with my own money.

Your keepall xs is gorgeous! That’s a great size to fit everything!

I love the speedy bb size. I agree that’s a perfect fit! The only nano I have is the nano turenne which I love and fits my essentials and the mini ps as well which is great! Thanks for sharing!

I just bought a mini bag. It can't fit my cell phone. And I am ok with that. I have found if I put my cell in my bag I am constantly getting it out over and over again. So in all reality a phone is usually in my hand, passenger seat or pocket. The mini bag I got will fit my cards, AirPods and key FOB. I can put a mask and hand wipe in there. That's all I really want to take out into the world right now. So I will be using that as long as my life doesn't change.

I love small to mini bags (ones that fit my 4 basics-phone, keys, cardholder, my inhaler). Those will always be the bags I carry in the spring and summer. I prefer small bags in fall/winter, and will never carry large bags.
That said, I’m not into micro bags that can’t fit a phone. The micro bags will go away, along with the mini versions of the classics, but the mini/small bags won’t.
The push/shift will go back and forth between large and small like it always has, and always will.

Given Chanel and Dior’s upcoming line ups, I think we have a bit more time before the trend winds down. I dislike getting my phone out of my purse and instead use my back pocket, so am not limited to bags that fit my phone. As long as it fits my ID, I’m good.
