I have the MK Ranger bag you are talking about and I love it. I haven't carried it lately but I don't remember the zipper sticking on mine at all. She is sound asleep in her dust bag right now but I might have to climb in the closet and inspect it further for you.
Also I did not find the bag too heavy and thought it was fairly comparable to all my leather totes in that size. But I don't have a sore shoulder so if it bothers you, I would return it and look for something lighter. Give her a few test runs around the house with the stuff you carry in it and decide. She is a cute bag!!
What color do you have? The one I bought is navy blue. I will take your suggestion and put my stuff in it and wear it around the house a bit. I'll have to try it out on the other shoulder as the one I normally use is quite sore.

I have three Michael by MK bags & love them all. None of mine have a zip closure though, they're all magnetic snaps. I think they are a great buy--all of mine are holding up extremely well, and I adore the hardware and the leather.

To help the zipper slide, I've heard you can rub beeswax on it. I've never tried it myself, so I'd try it with caution, but it might be worth a try. As to whether or not it's too heavy for you, only you can decide that for yourself. I also have back issues & I try to be really cautious of two things:

1) Buying a bag that's very heavy when empty
2) Carrying too much stuff in my bag

If you think that it's what you're putting in the bag that might make it too heavy, look to see where you can minimize--makeup bag, wallet, etc. Make a habit to clean it out each night so that you aren't carrying around things you don't need. However, if you think it's the weight of the actual bag itself, I'd say you might want to part with it, or at least not carry it on a regular basis. HTH!
Thank you if I end up keeping it I will try the bees wax trick. I do not carry alot and all of my other bags are under two pounds. I really like this bag ,but I'm just nervous because my shoulder hurts from carrying it around in a shopping bag all day yesterday. But I was also trying to hold a double strap shoulder bag on also [though I did switch that one from time to time on to my other shoulder]. I'm glad to hear they hold up so well since they don't do repairs.

Oh I love MK bags. One of my fave bags is an MK bag. I don't now the name of it but it's a black leather bag with gold hardware. I always get compliments on it. I love it so much.

They do not do returns, but they let me exchange it .I bought the woodside large satchel in black leather. They did not have any of the nylon bags at the outlet. This bag is almost a full pound lighter than the one I had. It's very cute and I really like it. Thank you all for your help.

I saw a white nylon satchel-like MK bag at TJMaxx this past weekend. I wanted it so bad, but I don't think white nylon and I get along very well.

I ended up buying a watch instead, but I keep thinking about the bag! It was only $180!

I just bought my first MK bag last week (as a birthday gift to myself!!) and I love it. Of course it is still new but it really seems like a great bag. It was a great buy too because it was on sale. I can see myself carrying it a lot.
