I just bought a Michael kors Ranger lg slouchy hobo in leather. I really like all the pockets and the way it looks. When I put my stuff in it though it feels a bit heavy and the zipper sticks a bit. Do the zippers get smoother if you use it? It's weight is slightly over two pounds empty,is that to heavy for someone with a bad shouder. I really like it so I'm having trouble being objective. :confused1:I haven't used it yet should I keep it or let it go?

I have a Michael Kors bag, but it's nylon and leather (the Austin tote), and it is light and the zipper doesn't stick at all, but it's hard to compare this to a leather bag...if you are unsure, I'd return it and keep looking...

The zippers of all the MK bags that I had seemed like that too. The bags wear really well though. I've never had a zipper break. And they are a bit heavier than other brands but I think it's because of the leather. I'm not sure if your bag is too heavy for a bad shoulder.

The only bag I have from him is this painted python flap bag and I really really love it. It may look a little bit too loud in the picture but it is really nice in IRL

I'm still very undecided. I really like this bag but I'm a bit nervous about injuring my shoulder any further. I glad to hear that the zippers don't break despite a little sticking. it's just so cute.

I have the MK Ranger bag you are talking about and I love it. I haven't carried it lately but I don't remember the zipper sticking on mine at all. She is sound asleep in her dust bag right now but I might have to climb in the closet and inspect it further for you.
Also I did not find the bag too heavy and thought it was fairly comparable to all my leather totes in that size. But I don't have a sore shoulder so if it bothers you, I would return it and look for something lighter. Give her a few test runs around the house with the stuff you carry in it and decide. She is a cute bag!!

I have three Michael by MK bags & love them all. None of mine have a zip closure though, they're all magnetic snaps. I think they are a great buy--all of mine are holding up extremely well, and I adore the hardware and the leather.

To help the zipper slide, I've heard you can rub beeswax on it. I've never tried it myself, so I'd try it with caution, but it might be worth a try. As to whether or not it's too heavy for you, only you can decide that for yourself. I also have back issues & I try to be really cautious of two things:

1) Buying a bag that's very heavy when empty
2) Carrying too much stuff in my bag

If you think that it's what you're putting in the bag that might make it too heavy, look to see where you can minimize--makeup bag, wallet, etc. Make a habit to clean it out each night so that you aren't carrying around things you don't need. However, if you think it's the weight of the actual bag itself, I'd say you might want to part with it, or at least not carry it on a regular basis. HTH!
