Does she now? Doesn't Zoe live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as well? This should be interesting.
Congrats with the tickets! Ridley Scott is fabulous. I hope you'll get to ask him a question. Perhaps Fassy will show up like he did for the Shame Q & A with Steve McQueen. *fingers crossed*
Yeah, the man likes his Brooklyn girls. Lol. Damn the gods for me being born but not bred there. Then again, neither were Nicole or Zoe, so... But I'm betting they live in different areas. Nicole doesn't seem like the Williamsburg type.
Oh, and thanks about the tix. Definitely hoping for a Fassy surprise. But excited regardless.
That is so bizarre! Then again I guess it depends on what you are used to. Do you guys think it's because certain people don't want to be seen with a black/Latino/Asian person? Is it all about appearances?
I think that in terms of appearances, it has a lot to do with where you live. If you live in an area where BW/WM sightings are common then you're probably more likely to get involved in that type of relationship as you're less likely to be looked upon with...well, with whatever people who look upon such couples look upon them with (fear, confusion, hatred, ignorance, you name it).
In the L.A. area where I live, you do see it but it's definitely not nearly as common as White men/Asian women couplings. America is far too race obsessed (and still
very racially divided/segregated). And therefor, American men and women are far too race conscious. Don't let the fact that we have Black president fool you. A European man is far more likely to date a Black woman (with ease, mind you) than an American man. The ingrained racism that far too many Americans grow up with being just one reason.
And the sad fact of the matter is, Black women
are the invisible women in this country. I'm not going to go any further with that because it's a long, sad, intricate topic.
