I agree with this statement below. I noticed that he's opportunistic too. He certainly appears to be into a woman's status (fame, connections, possessions) based on dating history. After hearing y'alls comments of what daddy fassy desires in a woman ( a woman who is well connected and semi well to do), I have now come to a conclusion that I no longer have a chance to become his partner in life because I am only a small town gal making a living as a costume designer who only makes enough to support myself and my cat Toby and therefore could not afford to own apartments in Rome and Paris nor have connections that can provide him the opportunity to upgrade his status in life. It deeply saddens me of this matter but because of my true feelings of love towards him, I will surrender all my inhibitions towards him in order for him to attain his gains in life that will make him happy.

Poor Michael Fassbender. The actor’s scintillating turn in Shame was overlooked at the Baftas, but he didn’t leave entirely empty-handed on Sunday. Pitch Black Heist, a black-and-white movie which he co-wrote and in which he stars, won the Best Short Film award. In the 13-minute caper, Fassbender plays a criminal who plots to break into a safe whose alarm is triggered by light. In a unique twist, the climactic heist unfolds in three minutes of total darkness. “Someone told me that the rule is never have more than 30 seconds of black in a film,” says director John Maclean. “I thought, ‘that’s a good rule to break’.” The scene was filmed “at a friend’s house, with the lights switched off”. The rest of the film, made for under £30,000, was shot in three days at The Dolphin pub in Hackney.

Maclean, keyboardist with defunct Scottish folk-rockers The Beta Band, started out making his own music videos. A friend passed his work on to Fassbender and in 2009 they teamed up on Man on a Motorcycle, a short about a day in the life of a courier shot entirely on a mobile phone. Fassbender filmed his part on a day off from Inglourious Basterds. “I thought he’d be sick of hanging around waiting for big set-ups so I made it a quick, guerrilla-style shoot,” says Maclean. “We had a lot of fun running around Soho, on the bike”. Maclean is now writing his first full feature for Film4, which he hopes will feature Fassbender. For now, they’re still celebrating. “He was very, very pleased. The main-actor thing really didn’t seem to bother him.”

I always thought that drama school and the ensuing struggling years set the tone and made him a bit thrifty; someone who's not averse to being offered free stuff, whether it's clothing or a place to stay if he has a girlfriend in x or y town. Like, I never got the sense that he was seeking specific people out because of added bonuses, but that he rode along those coattails if it was within the confines of a relationship. Perhaps it's seen as opportunistic bc he could have declined all that, and insist instead on getting his own things out of principle without having them offered to him. But I also sense that he's the type of affectionate person who falls easily into the pattern of a relationship even if it's short-lived (and can easily slide out of relationships). So I tend to think more along the lines of mollie/gemini.

We just know of the latest 5-6 girlfriends or hookups, but the man has surely dated an innumerable of women since his teens. I'm sure they spanned all different domains, from a small-town café singer, to cougar aristocrat. Barb, despair not! But if you call him Daddy in bed, it might bring him back some flashbacks of bad sex advice

So many for just physical pairings. People he seems to have natural chemistry with (that's nearly everyone and doesn't really shrink the pool, does it? ). I don't know why, but I think it would be mighty hot to have him hook up with an older but sexy-ease-to-shame-the-young starlets type of woman. Along the lines of Kyra Sedgwick, Ellen Barkin, Marisa Tomei, Iman, you get the gist.

But for a long-term prospect, someone with the same easygoing temperament, craic, and libido, but unlike him would have more OCD tendencies in managing her own life. OMG! That's hilarious, I think everyone is aware what a 'eye for da ladies' this Irish manchild has. I agree. It is pretty convenient to have a gf with a house in Beverly Hills where you can hang out for months while you audition for parts. It's also convenient to hang out in a gf's house in Australia after you've starved yourself for weeks and it's also very convenient to have a gf with a nice flat in Williamsburg where you can stay whilst shooting in NY.

But we don't know what he contributed except for the Fassdong, of course! He might have supported lots of girls as well. He doesn't come across as stingy. Plus someone on Cele*****y posted that she knew Maiko from the LDN party scene and that this little singing bird is a bit of a gold digger who depends on rich men to sponsor her music career. Who knows if this is true?!

That reminds me this American writer in LDN who's written a book about dating. She mentioned that she went on a few dates with actors and that she usually had to pay for the drinks because they're always broke. One of them even asked her to top-op his oyster (travel) card, because he was so skint. Starving actors are not cute!

I agree with you Annabel - i too think he is just a normal man who can have his pick of anybody - i hope when he does settle down it is somebody who is very grounded and not in the industry
