A lot of younger people seem to think deep wrinkles are the only signs of aging. They'll say, for example, that Michael looks older than Viggo Mortensen. I love Mortensen, he's aging well, but like anyone who is late 40s or over 50, he has the beginning of sagging skin. Even very fit people have that. Same with Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, and George Clooney. Pitt and Tom Cruise don't have it as much, but I think they've both had work done-Cruise more than Pitt.

Fassbender still has the very tight face and body of a young man.

All those Hollywood men had work done. No doubt about it! Viggo looks good for his age, but he doesn't look that fabulous and he cerainly doesn't look younger than Michael. BB is absolutely right when she wrote that younger people have become completely brainwashed by photoshopped images of (botoxed) celebs.

Let the kids stick to Rpatz and Bieber so there's more Fassy for us. :D

I don't know if this has been posted before but here is a youtube clip where you can see him with his ex Leasi Andrews aka ROC.
Steve McQueen, Robin Gutch & Laura Hastings Smith accepting the IFTA for Best Film at the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards.

Thanks for posting Venus! Let's hope Michael will win again this Saturday and let's hope there'll be no sign of ROC in the vicinity.

Out of the pictures you posted the 1st and 3rd are my favorites. Here are two others I think he looks good in. I personally like him with a little facial hair.

Ah, yes. The ones with him in that brown suit are some of my faves. I almost posted that same one

Welcome to the thread Soxy and thanks for the info! Am not such a car fan, but it'll be nice to see him talk about something he's so passionate about. :)

Ah, there's many nice pictures of him out there. I especially like the David Edwards photoshoot with the motorcycle, along with the Vanity Fair one. Can you tell that I miss the long, wavy hair? :) But they're not really suitable as headshots, I just wanted to to post them anyway :)

The imdb headshot is not bad and does the job (much better than the previous corpse-y picture). I prefer the LFF ADM pictures, he looks good with a bit of facial hair, as said by Gemini582!

Michael's a beautiful man but I think he looks best with facial hair. Though, I'm more partial to the day-old stubble look than I am to anything more. Not that I have any complaints about the facial hair (I love facial hair on men). It's just that on him I prefer it really short as in the first pic I posted.

As for the hair on his head, I love the fact that he looks good with it both long and short. I don't know that I really have a preference, though. I loved it in 'Shame' and even 'X-Men' (so maybe that's my preference?). But I also like it cropped like it is now. I guess I just like the fact that he can change it up and still look good.

On another note, I'm looking forward to seeing his outfits this weekend.

How is that going to work? If Scott wants him, he'll have to push back the start date.

But if the script is that hot, then the studio is going to push for someone more famous. Just like with Noah and the Man from Uncle project.

If the budget is not too high, Ridley may have a lot of heft in choosing his male lead. As well, I think Fassbender can top the list as lead in movies of a smaller scale (Noah and U.N.C.L.E. were both studio films that probably had a high budget). I might be totally wrong, but the article also doesn't make it sound like a studio film - none is cited; they usually would in a Deadline article. Otherwise, why would they shop around distributors at the Berlinale?
Like Mollie, I'm also intrigued by the start date and how it'll all work out, if the talks amount to something tangible.

I hope someone it organizing all these film dates. So far he locked in for 12 Years and XMFC2 however, it seems like he's letting the offers come in and seeing what he can pull off. Must be nice to not have to fight for roles anymore :p

I don't think they posted this Newsweek Roundtable soundbite on their website along with the other clips... and I thought earlier that there was a strictly platonic vibe between Michael and Charlize, but yeah, I gotta concede that she's probably enamoured with him, just with the # of "that's amazing" responses she says to most of his (normal) anecdotes.

I feel like that's just how Charlize is. I've seen her like that with a lot of people - not just men. I mean, maybe she's used to getting more attention than what he showed her and so she increased her level of attention or whatever. But I don't think it was anything real.

When these videos first came out the first thing I thought was that people were going to be talking about how it looks like there might be something between the two of them (even though there clearly isn't). But I just feel like people want so badly for him to hook up with someone like her or Mia or Keira or Carey. You know what I mean? They all said the same thing about all of them, too. Looking for something that isn't there.

I don't know... I just remember watching those videos, rolling my eyes and thinking, "oh, god, here it comes...the Michael and Charlize wave of rumors and wishes and hopes..." lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I happen to really like Charlize. I like her laid back attitude. But I thought her reaction(s) to Michael were normal for her. Just my opinion, though.

This is an interview from April, 2011. What I like about it is, there is a very small detail about his relationship with Zoe. Sometimes it is reflected that he is kind of a womanizer but I believe he is such a romantic guy.

'For now, though, he was headed out to meet his girlfriend, who, he said, had just flown in from the United States. (He did not elaborate, but he has been spotted with Zoë Kravitz, who plays the mutant Angel Salvadore in “X-Men.”) He bought her a cupcake.

DEADLINE: One unexpected award-season turn was Michael Fassbender not getting a Best Actor nomination for Shame. How much of your release strategy hinged on Oscar nomination love?
UTLEY: We released it to an art house audience intensely interested in seeing it, the small group of cinephiles who were following the festival news and the incredible press it got. We scooped up that money early on, and then the idea was, can we cross this over to a broader audience by getting some awards recognition? It’s very disappointing that didn’t happen. We did think that certainly Michael Fassbender, but also Carey Mulligan’s beautiful performance and this incredibly talented director Steve McQueen would have garnered more recognition. Despite our best efforts, the NC-17 rating probably put some voters off to the extent that they didn’t even watch the screener or see it in theaters. Because if you saw it, you would vote for it. Maybe we were a little too optimistic about people being able to overlook the rating, pop in that screener and give it a shot. We never bat 1000 but it’s up to us to take risks and swing for the fences. Sometimes, it works.
DEADLINE: You acquired Shame at Toronto, agreeing not to cut a frame and knowing it would be NC-17. That creates problems for DVD, VOD and TV unless you can cut an R version. Will the film pay off financially for Searchlight?
GILULA: I think it will be on the margins. We don’t have a specific plan to cut the film and that will limit its DVD distribution. But it’s holding in there quite nicely; we passed $3 million in limited release. The film is still playing in a crowded market, in spite of not getting a nomination. I think we will have a satisfactory result, but Nancy’s right. If we had gotten nominations, it would have gotten to a broader audience. But we are proud of this film and what we do in the after markets has not been fully fleshed out yet. It will go to HBO and travel through all the channels. I think there are some retailers that won’t put and X rated, excuse me, an NC-17 rated version up there, but we haven’t spent any time thinking about a cut version. Steve made an incredible film and everything is a piece of it. To chop it up?
UTLEY: It’s kinda baked in, ya know? This may not go down in history as one of our best business decisions but I’m still glad we took the risk. We tried to make it work the best we could.

That's probably because IRL those ladies might not be his type. He and Keira look gorgeous together, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

After reading the article ...holy crap, that sounds amazing. Go Michael go!
A complex male lead, Cormac McCarthy spec writing & Ridley back at the helm = Oscar 2014 is beckoning. :smile1:

I hope someone it organizing all these film dates. So far he locked in for 12 Years and XMFC2 however, it seems like he's letting the offers come in and seeing what he can pull off. Must be nice to not have to fight for roles anymore :p

I hope he'll continue to make interesting choices instead of going for the big bucks. This Ridley Scott project sounds like a perfect thing to balance out the next XM film.

BTW, ADM came out today in the UK, so if anyone wants a triple helping of Fassbender, they can knock themselves out this weekend. ;)
