I'm in the market for a black crossbody and saw these two in the store. They are men's bags, but I'm wondering what you guys think it's too manly for women? Any feedback on the saumur, how hardy is the leather part? I don't baby my bags, so I would like to know if it's as hardy as the vachetta or the leather on the damier ebene purses. Thank you!

I like them! I wouldn't care who they are made for if they fit what I needed to carry and I liked them!

Thank you! I'm leaning towards the Saumur because the Outdoor's zippers are quite scratchy. They're both really nice, but wondering now at the straps too. Tha saumur has a nylon one, while the outdoor has coated canvas. For those with these bags, does the nylon strap snag easily?

The Outdoor looks amazing on you.
The leather bottom of the Saumur doesn't seem fragile, the Taïga on the other one is also very hard wearing.
My only concern is the coated hardware on the Saumur. It is still only around a year since Vuitton started using such hardware, so no info on long term wear yet, but I would be very much afraid that the black paint will chip at the metal-on-metal contact points, and will look used.

Thank you! I didn't even think about that. All my Louis purses have the gold hardware. The good thing with black though, sharpie will make the scratches disappear.

I have alot of the mens bag and really I think men and women can carry them. I love the design of the Saumur, I was actually looking at that bag online. My store didn’t have it to try on…
I only went to the store to look at the Outdoor messenger. I wasn't sure about the Cobalt and Silver colors online, and black was out of stock. I didn't expect to see the black in store because when I called they said they didn’t have it either. The Saumur looked bigger online and I really didn't think I would like it until I saw it in person!

For me I like the saumur since it’s closer to the body. I feel the outdoor would be kind of bulky on me. That is why I don’t use my neonoe often. The saumur reminds me of my Odeon where it sits closer to the body….
which do you like better? That’s what’s important…

You're right, the Outdoor juts out more because of the front pouch. I think I'm going with the Saumur!

OP…both don’t even look masculine on you, but I love the outdoor messenger on you. :)

TBH…messenger bags just can’t “connote” masculinity.

I’m so off out with LV using these matted black hardware.…can’t they just keep it simple shiny silver hardware!?

True, I guess it's all in the attitude and how you carry yourself.

I really like the blacks and grays in the men's line, and I wish they had a pewter type hardware, like the ruthenium that Chanel uses. This will be my first non-gold hardware so I'm still pretty excited!
