I'm curious how the "rubberized" leather will look after some wear and tear. I suppose it's more amenable to scratches than the regular leather, but it's maby more water resistant? I wonder how this leather will react with leather cream..

Just to share my experience - it behaves almost exactly like the leather trim on damier pieces (I don't have experience with vachetta), except it is matte and has a rubbery feel to it.

It creases the same way. It's just as water resistant. I've been caught in a few drizzles and I didn't have to wipe it down; when the water dries up, it doesn't leave any dry marks. Oily finger prints are more noticeable because of the matte finish.

I've bumped my bag a few times, and there aren't any scratches on it - it has big swathes of leather trim on three sides. But the shoulder strap did scratch on the inside. I don't know, it must be the weight of all the things I carry in it, going against my finger nails when I reposition or adjust it. They are pretty light, but they don't rub off.

Ok, thanks :)

Today is my birthday (YAY!) and I just bought a mint condition Monogram Slate Amazone from the FW15 collection on Yoogi's.
I am excited to get it home and add it to my collection! It will be my Monogram Slate Backpack's little brother! ;)

Happy bday! That's a beautiful piece! I walked into
LV again today because I wanted to see if the speedy band. Bag size 40 would be a good choice, I liked the bag but first LV item I've seen that had no reference to where it was made. The SA eventually found made in USA and she said I'd never be able to find a made in France so I thought I don't need it lol.

Most Speedies sold in the USA are Made in the USA. The California factory manufactures the best sellers for the US / Canada market.

It sounds like your husband does not care at all about Louis Vuitton (but you do!), so I would spend the money on something you know he actually likes. What are his hobbies? What does he enjoy? It's about making him happy and showing him that you take an interest in his likes.

He's a triathlete. Heavy into his sporting equipment. I have bought him many doodads for that throughout the years. Cockpit, crank, derailer.. Bike seats.. Even running gear.. Special order shoes.. Race nutrition, etc. He has those items in spades! Too many of the sporting stuff, not enough of the fashion stuff (he still goes to work and still needs to beef up his weekday look).

I wanted to "enrich" his wardrobe and help him level up his look. I know he appreciates it when I dress him up since he's so clueless. Hence the thought to buy him LV.

Ya know.. Trying to contribute to the other facets of his life kinda thing.. :)

EDIT: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FAB!!! [emoji173]️
