medium classic flap in 2023 worth it? or go for a Woc?

If you buy woc now, later down the road will definitely buy cf. So you will end up with 2 bags
because that happened to me.
I agree with this! Classic Flap is so timeless, I would actually forget about potential resale value and think of it as "If there was only one expensive designer bag I'm going to buy in my life, this would be it"

I think that that CF is such a goat when it comes to bags--it's elegant and the perfect size, great for both day and evening.

As someone who has lusted after the classic flap for years, I don't think anything else would satisfy your lust for this bag and most definitely not the WOC. I finally got mine this year in my dream combo(before the price increase) and just looking at it makes me happy. Before buying it I reasoned that I could get a Loewe puzzle plus the Celine triomphe for less than the classic flap. Although I love these two styles, they are not the classic flap and I knew that I would always want the cf. I have no regrets getting mine. However, there are cons to this bag that aren't just the price. Let me know if you want to hear more.

I've been debating this. It's my ultimate holy grail bag, but the price!! I think I am going to continue saving to get the CF, as I want to purchase it while on a trip to Europe in the fall. That said, I'm worried that there will be yet another massive price increase before then, and I honestly don't know if I'd be willing to go higher than the current prices.

is the classic flap worth it in 2023? I have other chanel bags but don't have the CF or a woc.
the cf is my favourite but im just not sure I feel comfortable spending that amount of money, im scared ill regret it later down the line.
on the other hand im scared ill buy the woc and wish id just gone for the cf before another price increase.
They've already had a price increase since I first seriously considered one so im paying £1000 more already from being unsure.
The WOC barely fits anything. Get the medium classic flap

No need to debate - get it now. It will only get more and more expensive and then you will be glad you have one in my collection.
If you keep going for other bags, you'll waste more money before you finally get a classic flap. Do you have any travel plans, if you do, then the purchase will be tax free (so that's savings somewhere). Yes I agree Chanel can increase price any time, many times a year.

I would like to here more!

I just came back from a trip to France where I used my WOC literally every day. I love it even more than when I bought it!

I’ve had CFs in the past and like everyone else says, if your heart wants it you should get it! I’m just adding that I love my WOC for *my* lifestyle but I also love classics! I say get both hehehe

I have a WOC and a mini and still consider buying a CF but it would need to be the right color/no defects (who am I kidding)

I have the medium classic flap in caviar so here's my cons:
1. Cannot crossbody unless you have a smaller chest or are more petite. I am neither so it's a shoulder bag for me.
2. The capacity of the medium classic flap is MUCH smaller than that of other bags around the same size. I'm not an overpacker by any means but I feel the limit on the classic flap sometimes.
3. It's pretty heavy. I've heard the caviar tends to be just a bit heavier. My shoulder starts hurting even just carrying it for a few hours at a time.
4. Not a big deal to me, but the snap button on the inner flap is annoying and it's denting one of the quilts. I don't really see a solution for this, but I'm not too bothered.

Overall, I feel like the classic flap is not designed for function. That's ok to me, because I mainly bought it because I covet its beauty.

It sounds like you would always still want the CF if you got the woc. Both bags would serve different purposes.
If the price is the issue maybe consider buying your CF from the preloved market/vintage.

I have a CF medium in SHW and always wanted it in GHW. I consider selling it as the small CF is better on my frame. I ended up keeping the medium and just buying a vintage small GHW from japan.

I’ve had the woc before and sold it to get the mini flap.

would definitely be interested in hearing your cons.
Although I have a list of my own other than the price for some reason I still don't seem to be put off!

sorry I've just seen you have already replied to another person with your cons.
these things wouldn't bother me personally my main concern is actually things like the hardware as I've read it tarnishes on the ghw and things like ensuring I have a bag without defects.

I have the gold hardware and I know it won't stay perfect forever. I'm planning on sending it to Chanel to repair if it chips or loses its color since Chanel now has a 5 year warranty. And getting a bag without defects is hard. For me, when I was purchasing I made sure it was overall symmetrical with no popped stitches and you'd be surprised how many wonky flaps there are. Seems like the classic flap is perfect for you. Definitely go in store and compare a few before purchasing. My sa let me compare and I had no prior history so it doesn't seem like a big deal. Let us know what you end up deciding on.
