is the classic flap worth it in 2023? I have other chanel bags but don't have the CF or a woc.
the cf is my favourite but im just not sure I feel comfortable spending that amount of money, im scared ill regret it later down the line.
on the other hand im scared ill buy the woc and wish id just gone for the cf before another price increase.
They've already had a price increase since I first seriously considered one so im paying £1000 more already from being unsure.

I asked the same question last year!! If it's your holy grail bag, one you'll never be satisfied without, then yes it is worth it. The price makes absolutely zero sense considering what the same bag cost years ago, but it is what it is.

I think if you have your heart set on a WOC, get that too. Both just keep rising in prices. Both are completely different bags. WOC gets a lot more use in my lifestyle.

I'm considering the exact same dilemma as we speak! I'm so outraged by value, aka price point for quality. I'm even open to pre-loved, but in caviar leather + good enough condition, its just shy of $1k less than retail. I also feel the WOC would be just as, or more, useful day to day....but why cant I kick the desire for the CF? The CF is also a bag that, while gorgeous, is extremely recognizable and I'm the kind of fashion lover who likes to differ from the crowd a bit. But why oh why do i still desire the flap? I considered the 2.55 instead, harder to find in caviar leather though and the looks aren't quite a love. I may go the route of the mini rectangular as a "meet in the middle" between the WOC and CF, but those in caviar are pricier and harder to find. Agh the psychology of it all!

I actually got the mini rectangular thinking it was a meet in the middle but nope now I just want all 3
The mini was the first chanel I ever wanted along side the CF and harder to get so im happy I've ticked her off my list but I still want the CF. my reason behind wanting the WOC is definitely how much use id get from it as it fits my lifestyle perfectly.
Im also a little scared to use my mini with it being lambskin so definitely need something to fill that gap of an everyday bag.
the CF is a little to flashy for my everyday lifestyle :confused1:

Right! Well you may have just answered your question...?? ;) but again, it comes down to what your end goal is...is it to use your bag, or collect the bag? both are totally valid! i've done a bit of research, i've heard the small CF and mini rectangle hold about the same, so are you thinking size M? its one diamond quilt count difference between mini, small, medium. I am a casual person, not going to fancy events enough, I just need something small for dinners / evenings out with friends. I've even been considering vintage CF in lambskin from japanese resellers, as the CFs from longer ago (i've heard...?) are made from better materials. I'm having a really hard time justifying $9k+ for this bag, no matter how much I want it.

Buy the one you really want rather than buying twice or thrice. Just be sure that the medium is what you want. Try it on and be certain of the size. My first was the medium but back then I only paid £1K. It’s my worse size. I don’t like it. I’m all or nothing so prefer either mini bags or jumbo. If you love the medium CF buy that rather than a woc which is a lot of the money towards the CF following recent increases. Keep saving and get what you love.

Try the preloved market first for classic flaps! I just got two that way as I could also not stomach the new price point. I carry my mini rectangles the most and then woc actually for a night out.

I do have the rectangular mini im just scared to use it as much as I should with it being lambskin, its also difficult to get.
I know I won't use the classic flap much either as it doesn't fit my current lifestyle that's why its hard to actually make that purchase but I'm only in my late 20s so plenty of time for that to change plus I know I won't ever fall out of love with it and will keep it for many years. I'll also pass it down to my daughter so as long as it holds up I know it will still be very loved.
on the other hand the WOC is perfect for my current lifestyle but won't fill that void and the price increases on a WOC aren't as high so it keeps it at a much more accessible price.
preloved isn't an option for me because I have a fabulous SA and I love the boutique experience. As this is going to be passed down to my daughter id like to have my name on the certificate etc.
I'm also 100% certain on the medium size as I know the small doesn't fit anymore than a mini so its bit pointless to me.
I have tried it and loved the size

As many have said here, the heart wants what it wants. I had longed for the medium CF for years too and didn't get it until this year (went the pre-loved route). Have yet to carry it because I haven't found the right occasion but having it in my collection makes me happy :) I have the WoC too and definitely use that more but it's just not the same bag. Let us know what you decide!
