Balenciaga noob here. What is the difference between a Z tag and an A tag? Trying to learn about these bags as much as I can. Thanks!
The A tag is from fall/winter 2005, while the Z tag is from the spring/summer of 2005. They are both super lovely, but A tag is even more rare and sought after by collectors. Many consider the A tag leather superior. For the shameless hoarding collector types (yours truly), the leather and hardware variations in the 2003-2005 years/seasons justify owning multiple black Cities.

Very special season for black Cities. Couldn’t tell you where I learned it, but Nicole Ritchie’s iconic black City we lusted after years ago, was actually a S/S 05 A tag too.
I checked out Ceejay’s collection thread and she had them in 4 colours at one point. RDC still has the red version that was also hers.
I gave up on pretending LOL, I just expect it to be hand held …. or if strap makes sense in it visually I will take it for travel, if not it will stand on my carry-on suitcase. I usually use weekender as a shoulder bag but I will try this one next.
