Mark Cross - anyone have one?

Reviving this thread to see if anyone has any more information. How is the wear and tear on Mark Cross bags? I saw someone with a Grace today and while the construction looked beautiful the wear on the bag strap (scratches and discoloration) looked concerning!

I can’t vouch for the new ones. I had one many years ago and it was fabulous. I wore a lot and it wore well. I can’t believe I donated it when it went out of fashion and they stopped producing in late 1990s. Shocked that the brand is back.

Interesting! The company does claim to use the same factory as it did before the rebrand, so there may be some continuity.

I do see this brand a lot on Instagram now, to the point where I suspect that influencers have been gifted bags but aren't disclosing within photos... wish American standards were more strict on that...

Mine are from the 1990s too. I got them from a Coach outlet when both Mark Cross and Coach were owned by Sara Lee. Seems that’s when they were winding down that iteration of the Mark Cross operations. Mine have held up really well—hard to believe but I would even carry the Grace Box around to college classes. I’ve seen other vintage Grace Boxes with unsightly nail scratches however.IMG_4359.jpg

You sound like a way more fashionable college student than I ever was. [emoji23] Your bags look like patent leather? Very pretty!

looool when I bought them I had no idea who or what Mark Cross was. They were marked down to a few hundred dollars each, which was still a lot at the time, now that I think about it, but if I had to buy them at todays price you can be sure I'd be more careful

Good luck whatever you decide
