Do you think it's worth trying to score one at the relaunch if you are from overseas? It's just I've heard shipping costs can be in excess of US$100+?! Given that bags are showing up here and there on stockists sites, wouldn't it be better just scouting for those or even via PS Department? (Even with their gratuity and US forwarding costs, they won't cost as much)

Depends what you're after - most stockists carry regular buckets in black/flamma and cammello/rosa but it seems a bit harder to find some of the other colours and sizes. I think for some combinations MG direct is the only option. I am going to try my luck with the restock and use my US forwarding address to avoid the $150 shipping cost.

I actually bought from NAP before purchasing from the MG direct relaunch and getting it directly from MG (even with the $75 shipping charge to Singapore) was cheaper than getting it from NAP!

using a forwarding address is such a good idea! has anyone tried it, does it create any problems in terms of taxes (when I bought from MG directly previously, I was not taxed) and returns in case I get a faulty bag?

I have used a forwarding address for non-MG purchases before. My forwarder ships via DHL, so DHL collects the tax (7% goods and services) upon delivery, and adds a SGD20 handling fee. All things considered the tax, handling and forwarding charges are still sometimes lower than direct shipping from certain retailers.

And shipping to Asia from MG is USD75 so I suspect that using my forwarder will still result in lower costs overall.

am wondering if I should take the risk and ship direct via MG again this time and maybe I will get lucky again and not get taxed! but if I do, it is way more expensive than using a forwarder. sighhhhh decisions decisions..
