^ Did they send it away, or were you able to pick it up right away ?

If you check out Tyler's detailed answer to cleaning in his Tiffany thread, there's a difference between the in store clean and the send away clean.

There is a difference to the store cleaning and send away cleaning at DY. The store cleaning is pretty fast, I usually drop it off and come back after shopping and it is always ready. The piece always looks significantly cleaner and has always been free at my DY store. The send away cleaning is not only cleaning but IMO repairing. I have done it for one bracelet and it came back looking brand new...no dirt, no dings, no scratches, nothing...it was perfect. There was a charge for that service, but if you have a severely beat up piece, it is worth it. I believe this is similar to what is done at Tiffany when your jewelry is sent away for cleaning...I took in a bracelet there and it came back looking brand new with no scratches.
