I hope not!

Authenticate4U is based in the UK and has multiple brand specialists. They are reputable, IMO.

***************** is US based, located in Indiana and has authenticators who seem to have multiples "areas of expertise," but they aren't expert, IMO.

Authenticate4U has posted on TPF (with one ID) to explain issues with their site, apologize for their previous inability to respond to requests, explain forged authenticity documents that used their name, and in all cases has acted professionally.

***************** has posted on TPF (with at least 5 IDs to promote her site and has been banned on at least 5 different IDs.
Notice that ***************** hasn't come to this thread to apologize for the inaccurate authentication, and although the seller's listing was removed, I bet the seller who paid for the "professional" opinion hasn't received a refund.

Another thing ***************** does is offer a service where buyers pay $9 (on ebay and bonz) for a pre-purchase authenticity opinion. This is the same thing we can get here on TPF or the ebay boards for FREE!

She can't, because she's been banned and no longer allowed to post here. But she has a few longtime posters that are her "clients" that I'm sure will jump in when/if they get wind of this thread.

How about a different point of view. Anyone can say they had it authenticated anywhere. Just because someone says they had it authenticated at A4U, Carol Diva or whoever, does not mean they actually did it. As you all know, scammers will do anything to sell fake items, even putting in their listings letters stolen from other authentication services or just saying they did. I see so many people say they are TPF members but they are not. Just another thought. I think people are innocent until proven guilty. Is there any proof that this authentication company actually authenticated it? I think it is unprofessional to slam all authentication services ( Unfortunately, I have seen every single one of them slammed). Just please get the facts first before jumping to any conclusions. :-)

Thank you for posting. Great advice. I always use the same authentication service for my H bags --she is amazing. The one time I had to sell a Gucci, I used the specialist referred from the Gucci board.

I just want to add that sometimes sellers lie about getting items authenticated. I once bought a bag from a seller who is frequently referenced on these boards. Seller claimed it was authenticated by mypoupette. When I contacted mypoupette, they had no record of the listing (and took forever to get back to me). In the end, I won the bag and used a paid authentication service specializing in the brand and thankfully it was authentic.

Bottom line, if a seller claims they had an item pre-authenicaed, it never hurts to check with the service they used to ensure they are being truthful.

I experienced the same thing. Not only did they say they had it autheticated at My Poupette, they said they were on their trusted seller list. Thank God I checked with My Poupette or I could have been out a LOT of money. Again, check your facts first.

Well, the truth is that everything that has been said about AF is fact. Not opinions, facts.

You raise a good point about perhaps the seller did not have the item in question actually authenticated, but just used their logo.

BUT- if you look at this seller - they appear to be a larger reseller with several other items that have been checked by AF.

If they were simply using their logo - it would really be foolish as they have many items for sale, rather than just sticking a random logo in a random listing.

Thank you for responding. I just had to find out for myself what the actual truth is so I contacted ****************** and they confirmed that they have not authenticated any Coach for this seller. They said to thank TPF for pointing this out as they would not have know that their name was being used when it should not be. Again, this is a clear case of checking your facts!

I call total BS.

As I stated before, this seller had SEVERAL listings with the AF logo in them. You mean to tell me they didn't authenticate ANY of them? Would this reseller, who seems to sell a lot of mid/high end bags, be foolish enough to just insert their logo in their listings?

Laughable. Add that to another reason this service is anything but trustworthy.

Lol, nope. Just not into being scammed :D
What ever issues you all have with them....why don't you try working it out with them directly or any other person you have a problems with. You can say all that you want on these boards.......people will just have to base their judgments by performing their own research.
