All i would like to say is: fast fashion has destroyed women's professional dress habits and in today's corporate PC environment, attire is not as enforced. Please stop wearing leggings as work pants, please! /rant over.
Yes. You nailed it spot on. I knew enough that I would never have bought a Chanel or Gucci in one of those stores. I would do the same a 30 dollar bag and use it till it broke and then onto the next. My designer have lasted and def better quality.Me too - I was over 50 before I was 'interested' in purses - before that I bought one $30-$50 purse at at time and used it until it wore out. Chose one because it was comfortable to carry and held the amount of stuff I needed it to - fashion never entered into my choices, it was just something to carry my stuff in.
I'm not bothered by 'inspired' items - there are only so many shapes/styles possible and obviously there will be some overlap - as long as they aren't 'fake' (with an actual LV or Chanel logo or whatever).
The one thing I will say in favour of more expensive (and by that I only mean $250-$500 range) is they do last longer so there is less damage (garbage piling up) to the environment. One of my $300 Coach bags recently wore out after over five years, in that time I would have gone through at least a dozen $30-$50 bags.
That's different. I have seen people wear them as business attire and all I fight the urge to say to them is -"you know I CAN see your black thong through your leggings." Just saying. Lol. In the environment ypu described I would expect work out clothing.
I don't care about F21 bags... they are made for people searching in a different price point and consequently have different lifestyles...
I will say I am guilty of wearing semi-fit yoga pants to work on a daily basis as I provide in-home behavioral therapy to children with developmental disabilities. Totally functional... I even suggest it to my staff. You never know when a child is going to want to crawl on the floor racing toy cars and slacks just don't work!
I reserve my fancy clothes for teaching or attending professional conferences when my Ph.D. is more relevant...
