I am considering adding a long necklace to my collection. I have my eyes on the Magic Pendant. I have a hard time to decide between MOP and Guilloche. They are both easy to match colors. Guilloche is solid gold, more durable, at a higher price point. MOP is the classic, elegant, but may be subject to scratches, since I intend to wear it long?

What would the best choice?

My SA is pushing me to the Guilloche. Her rationale is Guilloche is the newer option, and MOP is out for a long time - many already have it. Does anyone have both of them, or consider getting both of them?

I don't think that should be relevant to your purchase. These pieces are expensive - they're classic and therefore it shouldn't matter how recently released the piece is. I'm sure VCA will release many more stones in Alhambra line over the years - you buy them because you love them, not because they're new.

I think the MOP is more classic and useable day to day in the Magic size, than the guilloche . I'd also be concerned about wearing the guilloche long and it getting scratched.

Another option is to save for the paved magic, which is also very easy to match, but it will take quite a while... Can it be too formal as well?

Honestly, I agree with mikimoto2007 that this is totally irrelevant. I know black and white are the two colors that will go with almost everything I wear, so I definitely plan on focusing on onyx and mop with an occasional pop of color, maybe. I never buy based on what is new or popular at the moment. I think about what I would wear and enjoy!

I think the MOP could be worn very casually much more easily that the pave. It would be wonderful to own both, though!

I will not be helpful since not a fan of guilloche but Of your options I would save for dismond in magic and get something else in vintage (mop, malachite,onyx, etc). For mop the inbetween magic and vintage is a nice size too. It doesn’t have as much length option with the chain but it is such a great size.

Yes - guilloche is much shinier.
So maybe get MOP magic for day time, and start saving for the Pave magic for the evening down the road...
