I don't own anything in burnt camel but I have a couple of bags in Silt. It really is a gorgeous color.

Update: Thank you all again so much for giving your input! Both my brother and I ultimately decided to go with the "Silt" and our mother was thrilled with the bag. We also kept the "burnt camel" and showed it to her afterwards [post-birthday festivities] and although she also liked the latter, she much preferred "Silt" as well, for same the reasons you all mentioned in this thread (versatility, hides dirt better, slightly more age-appropriate). She admitted that the "burnt camel" is also beautiful but perhaps a bit too "bling" and that the more muted shade of the "silt" was more suited to her personality. She liked that it was unassuming yet still stylish. 
And of course she was even more thrilled when I showed her this poll -- she was surprised that so many "strangers" would take an interest in the colour decision and was grateful for the validation that vote results provided.
