I figured I'd share my Madewell Mini Suede Transport Tote in the light pink color. I LOVE the size and style of this bag... the quality not so much. I guess I'm too hard on my bags for me to expect that light pink suede would stay nice looking.

I got this bag with the intention of it being my summer bag that I would never wear with jeans but unfortunately I couldn't stop myself from using it before it got warm and I got color transfer on both sides, although the one side isn't too bad which is the side I wear now outward. Like I said, I was never going to baby this bag but after the color transfer I really stopped caring about keeping this bag nice and it gets thrown around a lot. Suede is so easy to get dirty so I can accept that but I am disappointed that the strap is fraying quite badly.

But the aesthetic of the bag is exactly what I was looking for. I'm 5'1 so although I love the practicality of totes, I stay away from them for fear of be swallowed by them and I prefer to carry bags on a long strap. The Mini Transport tote fits everything I need daily nicely, with room to fit something like a water bottle if needed. At first I wasn't crazy about how square it stayed when I wore it, but after a few months of use and filling it up quite a bit, it has a nice little slouch which I love!

I've only had it for a few months and it looks more worn than I think it should, this is the kinda of bag the I'm gonna wear to death this season but I probably wouldn't want to pick it up next year due to the staining and fraying. I wish I hadn't paid full price, I don't think it was worth it. I would consider getting the leather version down the line but I have other totes on my list before I'd try this one again (...cuyana, baggu which is more fairly priced imo...).

I’m surprised to hear all the negative opinions and reviews on Madewell here. I’ve long admired them but only recently ended up with one. I am blown away by the “hand” and obvious natural grain showing through, indicating minimal leather treatment. I find the simplicity of the design and the vibe to be very pleasing and refreshing after way too much hype and all the nonsense pricing of “luxury” offerings of LVMH
and the like.

I have a transport tote that I use when I travel for work. I’ve had it for around 10 years now? It’s a workhorse. It’s still in great condition and will last many more years to come. Well worth the price I paid.
