Madame Calfskin Leather

The CDC 24 I got last month is Veau Madame. The description posted by azukitea via the maisondeluxe website is quite accurate. When I first tried the CDC I thought it was Epsom. However, after closer inspection the grain doesn’t appear a little more refined. So far with frequent wear, I’ve had no real issue.

There's an existing thread on Madame here. It's a new leather and I doubt that it's a leather used on a vintage bag. For any identification questions on leather, color, design, or size please post them at this thread. Sharing pics of the bag would be most helpful in allowing others to help you identify the leather of your vintage Kelly.

Hmm, if it's a new leather, I'm wondering why the Paris office said it was Veau Madame? Could it be a leather that may have been offered back in the 50s/60s then pulled? They did say that the bag was a special order from back then but they can't give me any history information on it.

I don't have the bag. I sent it to the spa as soon as I got it back in July when I returned from Paris.

UPDATE! They re-evaluated the leather and decided that it is Veau Graine Lisse. Thanks everyone for their input! I appreciate it!

Thanks! I can't wait either but I did tell them to take their time. I was in no rush which they said they were very thankful for.

It's somewhat like Epsom but softer. Doesn't seem difficult to take care.

Agree the closest comparison is Epsom leather. However, Madame calfskin is not as hard, grains are less pronounced, and leather feels less “plasticy” (?). It feels like a nice calfskin. Tbh I haven’t really worn mine much due to covid so can’t really review wear & tear, but leather seems durable.
