How do you like it- I’m thinking about doing this…
Do you like the fit??
I really like the shirt. I can wear it loose or tucked into slacks, jeans.

The fit I opted for is casual and boxy — When my measurements were taken multiple times, I was concerned about the silk not having any stretch - erred on the side of spacious and comfort fit. I really like the overall look and fit (May need to alter slightly locally but as my seamstress is the same one Hermes uses locally should be fine).

It was an enjoyable process and I am very happy with the end result. When I wear it will post pics.

Thank you for this detailed response.
I have the 5 scarves needed (a F/W 22/23 season pattern)but missed the first measure date - so will most likely measure in spring 2023 or in Paris
Was told it would be a fitted style - but, like you, I would prefer a looser fit so I could wear it open sometimes, like a light jacket -
It’s hard for me to wrap my head around cutting up these Hermes scarves, tho - ;-)

I know! Sad but end product is nice. The back of my shirt is an entire scarf. It was not cut or taken in to showcase entire design.

Do you need 4 or 5 scarves to make the shirt? I had read it took 4 scarves somewhere else but now seeing 5 scarves mentioned in @TankerToad‘s post.
I was told a long sleeve shirt requires 5 scarves, regardless of client size (US I am a size 2, UK 6) as follows
1. Back one scarf
2. Front one scarf
3. Each arm one scarf
4. Collar (front and back of shirt), button front closures, cuffs one scarf

Do you mind sharing how much it was in total to construct this shirt?

I think I blocked it and have full deniability of the charges . I must have the receipt somewhere. I paid in several installments and measuring appointments (odd but that is what H required). Will look and update. (Still in denial)

It’s the cost of 5 scarves plus labor which you pay a portion upfront then the rest upon receipt of the shirt. Labor is a little over $2k so that puts the shirt around $4.5k before tax … I got rid of the receipt (maybe in an attempt to forget?) so not sure the exact price.
