Lynn Earrings and Paloma X Earrings: Too Similar?

I have the mini Paloma graffiti X earrings in rose gold. I have my eye on the Schlumberger Lynn earrings but am wondering if they might be too similar (gold and X motif). Would I perhaps be better served getting the Victoria mini earrings in platinum as something completely different? The only white metal earrings I have are diamond studs and hoops. Thanks so much for your thoughts!

(The longer story is that I recently sold a bunch of luxury and unbranded jewelry because I had too many pieces that served the same purpose. I’m trying to be more intentional in my buying!)

I'm a fan of Schlumberger jewelry in general, so would you be inclined to wear these diamond/gold
earrings during the day?
They are similar, but the Paloma are day into night & the same option exists if you would wear
the Schlumberger during the day..
Do you wear your diamond studs during the day? or just in the evening?

If you like the Schlumberger but want white metal, you could consider the Lynn earrings in platinum.

I love the Victoria line, but the mini earrings are teeny. Have you tried them on? The Lynn earrings have much more presence.

“Serving the same purpose” is in the eye of the beholder. I love fragrances and more than 1/4 of my collection are rose-dominant. Someone else would probably consider some of them to serve the same purpose but I love them all and I like having variety.

Good luck choosing!

Yes, I could definitely see myself wearing them during the day with certain casual outfits! I don't really dress up except for a few times a year, so I would definitely plan on wearing them with jeans/linen pants/sundresses depending on the season. My studs are less than 0.75 ct, so I do wear them in the daytime, too. Thanks for your input! Nice to hear from a fellow Schlumberger fan:-)

Ooh! I didn't think of the platinum Lynn option! What a fantastic idea! I have to try them on. So far I've only tried on the yellow gold Lynns.

I have tried on the mini Victorias, and I think they're a good size for my lifestyle. However, I do feel you get more for your money with the Lynn earrings.

I appreciate the analogy of your perfume collection with "serving the same purpose"! We like what we like, and variety in things that we enjoy is never a bad thing. You've helped me look at this in a different way:-) Thank you!

Schlumberger Lynn looks more distinct and has larger spread. I would go with that over the mini Victoria. Also, I feel two-tone is more versatile.

I think Lynn is pretty similar to X, since the only major difference is that there are 4 diamonds added between the lines. I think if you had Lynn, you might not need the X earrings in your wardrobe anymore, unless you want to match rose gold. They have a lot of use overlap, in my opinion.

If you were choosing between the 3 earring options, I think most people would say to go with Lynn over the X or Victoria.

You could also consider the rose gold/platinum 2-tone earrings if you want to replace the X earrings. But if you strictly want to keep the X earrings, then I would get Victoria but a larger size.

Or I would do something very different like drop earrings, such as hardware or knot, which have some pieces at a similar price. But those might not be as everyday.

I have the Lynn earrings in YG and Pt. The Sclumberger design and construction are amazing! The dimond prongs and support base are all in platinum and that gives the earrings a nice weight. The golden X's are in sculpted gold with a very 3-dimensional look. They are perfect for day into evening. I liked the earrings so much, I thought about getting an all platinum pair but, worried that they might not be different enough from the 2-tone Lynn, which is the original Schlumberger design for Lyn Revson. With that in mind, I looked at the Victoria earrings and settled on the medium in Pt. I like them for their marquise cut diamonds, which have quite a different presence than the Lynn earrings. To me, Victoria in the medium size is more dressy and I tend to wear them when I want a little more wow. I wear the Lynn earrings way more than the Victoria.

Thank you! Yes, I am definitely drawn to the two-tone aspect of the Lynn:-) I do have my eye on the smaller knot earrings with diamonds, and I have and LOVE the medium Hardwear link earrings in yellow gold. You’ve single-handedly listed all of my favorites in your post:-) I appreciate the input!

So great to hear from someone who has the Lynn earrings and wears them often! I really appreciate hearing that you do wear them during the day (and into night). Thank you for the vote of confidence!

I vote for the Victoria earrings. I wear mine often and I have received many compliments on them. They are very versatile. I have never tried on the Lynn earrings but you can’t go wrong with them too. Try on the platinum version or the platinum with blue sapphires.

At one point, Lynn’s were also available with colored stones.
I can’t recall if it was special orders or stocks, but that could be an option for you as well.

I will definitely try on the Victoria in white metal (I have only tried them in rose) and compare them with the Lynns. And I hadn't thought of the Lynn with colored stones---so many delightful options. Thank you!
