Thank you all for your responses!! For you ladies who have monogram- have you noticed any issues specific to this print? I’ve seen horror photos of monogram canvas rubbed off or faded and also photos of cracking.

I have a Speedy B 25 in Mono and it's 2 years old. Slight, even patina and looks gorgeous. I use it as an everyday bag and had it out in the rain over the weekend. Not a single raindrop on the leather. I did use Apple Guard Rain and Stain spray when I first purchased. It didn't turn the vachetta colors and has protected it beautifully.

I also have a Speedy 30 in mono from 1983. I purchased it preloved and had to clean the handles. Once I removed the dirt, there's a gorgeous, even, honey patina. To answer your question, the monogram canvas on this bag is just as beautiful as my 2 year old Speedy. No rubbing, fading, or cracking. This bag was definitely used so it's not that it was protected while being stored. It's a testament to the quality of their canvas.

Thanks so much for your detailed response! Definitely getting excited for my bag to arrive— I can’t wait to use it!

Time twin stamp!

Two years ago, purchased Speedy B25 in monogram as first LV. I treated vachetta with Appleguard. Living in rainy Florida, I was so scared to use it. It was my first luxury bag and I didn’t want to ruin it. So I purchased the Alma BB in Epi, Felicie in monogram, and Speedy 25B in DE. I used the latter purses more than Speedy B monogram. If I could do it again, I should have purchased first Speedy in DE and selected a monogram in a different style. Now, I have zero plans on selling my mono Speedy and just use it more in winter (no rain).

I got speedyB 30 in monogram. Used it as school and travel bag. But I did have to check the weather before I take it out, just so it doesn’t get water spots. I also make sure my hands are 100% dry before I touch the handles. So it was definitely not a worry free bag for me. Then I got a Speedy 25 classic in DE. Used it almost daily for a long time since day one. I haven’t used the mono one since purchasing the DE one. But the size is another reason too, because I found the 25 is more of of a daily use size for my body frame.

Thank you!! I think I’m leaning towards using Apple Garde for the first time.

I love my DE Speedy— so carefree and easy! I just wish it had a strap.

I have never treated by bags either. I believe in doing what the manufacturer recommends. I have always thought that treating vachetta can attract dirt rather than repel it. I love patina, so I don't do anything to discourage the process.

they don't want you to treat their untreated leather because they want you to buy a new bag when it gets too ruined. more money for them.

I have vachetta fear deeply. I got my Alma BB Monogram, only use 1-2 times, so scared of getting coffee spill or food stain. I am not worried about rain, as using baby wipes can even out. But coffee spill will leave a forever dark stain that is gross. I watched one youtube video of her Alma BB got so dirty as she did not treat it at all. I wish I watched her video before buying.

But speedy B does not have a big piece of vachetta at the bottom, side strips are not so hard to maintain. I am ok with speedy b mono or azur. Because I love speedy too much. :D

I had a coach wallet once that was fabric with vachetta trim. I lived in France when I had it and rogue Nutella from a crepe got all over it...the stain disappeared with time into the vachetta but stayed on the fabric (it was on the back and I was pretty broke so just kept on using it!) I've been sold on vachetta ever since - although I agree, with the big vachetta base the imperfections can be larger and more obvious. I'm mostly carefree with my speedies and neverfull at this point, because a dot here or there isn't that noticable.
