LV RTW

We could always revive this thread as I suspect many would consider buying LV RTW this year. :graucho::drinks:

I purchased few RTW pieces this year.
March: dress from SS21
April: watercolor sweater
May: distorted damier denim jacket for my husband.

There is only 1 bag that I’m currently saving up for. Otherwise, no other bag excites me. We are collecting POs tho.

I know LV is famous for its bag but what do you think of the RTW? I recently have my eye on a man's sweater. I have seen it on IG (wear by a girl and seems pretty nice too). Will try it out when I have a chance to visit the store.

Do you own any LV RTW piece? How do you like it? Any thoughts?

I don’t own any but honestly, not very much of it appeals to me. I totally get it if that’s your thing, and many people would think I’m crazy for what I’ve spent on LV bags and SLGs, but to me the RTW is not worth the money. It’s not something I would buy even if I won the lottery. I am quite fond of pairing my LVs with high street and vintage clothing. :giggle:

Scarves are another story though, I own three and wouldn’t say no to more.

I don’t own any RTW, I only have maybe a handful of designers of this caliber in my closet bought vintage or TJmaxx or Last Call. My lifestyle (where I am in terms of how much money I make and where I live) just looks either fake, trying too hard, or not having my priorities right to wear LV RTW. With all of this disclaimers, I don’t like the new direction, I feel it’s geared towards influencers and celebs only to show off they got it made and entice you to get attracted to the brand and still go buy a handbag or a luggage or SLG. I only liked a few of RTW seasons designed by Marc Jacobs. If I had the money, I would buy classic or maybe even trendy (depending how much money I had to burn) items that don’t have any sort of logo on them, which they do have items like that. But no one would ever know it’s LV at that point, and there are a lot of other designers with nicer things.

I had an LV trench. Ran larger than Dior or YSL, about the same size wise as chanel RTW. LV aftercare on it was terrible when I had an issue the following season. and their NY HQ customer service SAs, once mine left, were not really friendly (other than in furniture at corporate HQ) so I gave up. I still have three older sprouse collaboration scarves that I adore From years ago. However, I haven’t bought in years, as the time I was really interested in LV RTW was in the Marc Jacobs era.

This 2021 collection seems very plain and tailored or very monogrammed. For plain and tailored, I prefer Akris (the one designer I shop department store bc the flagship in NY is sad) The knit skirts seem like they might bag out. Prices seem comparable roughly to Dior or H RTW. Men’s RTW is generally a better buy in any designer (I buy both men’s and women’s Brunello Cuchinelli), and the LV men’s sweaters look like good quality.

OT, but my mom wears their shoes and boots and finds them more comfy than Dior. Sized more generously than Manolo or louboutin. flats are priced similarly to Dior and chanel, boots about the same as Dior prices.

I do not own any LV RTW and I'm not a LV bag/accessory person in general.

I am also interested in their RTW but for the most part I find it too flashy. And when it is plain, it's almost a little too plain for me, and not really having that design or character that tells me it's LV.
I'm sure the quality is not bad but for the same materials and style, I could definitely go elsewhere for something that is more affordable :-s

Most of the time clothing with monogram is very bold and loud. Or other too young style for me. But I do like ombre shading items and that sweater is like that. But I'm a bit not too sure if I like to monogram on clothing instead of handbag...
On the other hand... I do agree CD RTW style is more subtle and unique, fit more of my wardrobe more..

LV had different style from Chanel or Hermes. I did buy two dresses from previous season. Their sizes fits small. I wear Chanel 38 but need 40 in LV. Very hard to find something lasting for years. I just carefully select the ones that I can wear for a few years and not so trendy or flashy. But so far, I haven’t bought anything this year.
