I'm cleaning out my closet as we're getting ready to remodel it and holy cow, I need help :) What do you do with your LV boxes? It's insane to keep all of these and that's not even all of them, there's boxes inside the boxes and boxes from other brands...hahaha.

It's crazy how much it accumulate until you are cleaning and taking it all out. And having to admit that I may have a problem...apparently a shopping and a hoarding problem :) :)

I too have too many to count but I keep them all. All shopping bags, ribbons, and receipts too. I was not happy when my DH threw out my first ever LV receipt from 2003 when we moved into this house 15 years ago. That's when LV used special paper and envelopes for their receipts and brown boxes and brown leather ribbon. I keep everything but I much prefer the brown on brown packaging:smile:

I saw an interesting YouTube video where an LV CA said they had to use scissors to score or damage the box before throwing out old boxes at the store. For myself, I like to collect LV packaging. The old brown boxes used to come with leather ribbon ties and tabs.

Thank you, at least now I know I'm not the only one

Interesting thread! I never thought of looking before. I keep all of the packaging my purchases come with too and will keep folded those collapsible ones. I just looked at some, most big boxes were made in China, some medium flap boxes and small drawer type were from Vietnam, Italy and Bulgaria.

I still have most of my boxes, aside from the ones that were damaged in shipping, and I’ve never noticed that there’s even any info inside on where they’re made.
They are underneath the boxes. One thing I noticed were that the brown boxes I have were made in Romania. The original thicker dustbags were made in Italy. The newer dustbags are all made in India and the orange boxes are made in China and Vietnam
Sorry I just edited to say brown boxes are made in Hungary not Romania. I just checked lol.

Oh my goodness! - You have made my day! I don’t feel as bad for everything I have kept!

From my understanding, there is a market for these…But I have always held back selling any b/c I don’t know IF I would be contributing to the counterfeiters trying to appear more legit when they sell fake bags.

I have many bags which by all account I should be selling them b/c I haven’t used them in years. So IF I did sell any, I would have dust covers, boxes & original paperwork. I see many legit resellers & #1 question is: Does It Come With Dust Cover & Box”

I even have the brown ones which include the ginormous shopping bags from luggage purchases

If you plan on reselling any, I would keep your collection. Otherwise, possibly a legit reseller would be interested.

I have recently sold 4 LV bags and an LV wallet, 2 to a good friend and 2 to a reputable consignment store as a full set: box, dustbag, shopping bag/ribbon and original receipt. It pays more for the buyout, but nonetheless LV leather does not have good resale value as opposed to canvas.

Selling just these boxes alone would fund a new bag :O
