LV FALL WINTER 19/20

To me personally it is hideous and it does not convey “Louis Vuitton”. And archival logo or not, in the modern luxury sector the triangle is most commonly used by Prada, at least in my limited experience.
Nicolas Ghesquière is very interested in the rich LV archives as we've seen time and time again on the runway, so it's not surprising to see vintage elements pop up in his collections. Technically, this is an oversized "V" rather than a triangle, which has been used for decades in historic Louis Vuitton advertisement. Perhaps the most popular examples are the "Gaston V" and the "picture in the V" ads from the Deco period.

Whether one likes it or finds it "hideous" is fully subjective. I was just trying to explain where it came from. :coolio:

I see your point and I kinda agree, but I also appreciate very much Fabuleux's explanation. History is history, the other brands copied and pasted (or got "inspired" by LV) and now sell similar symbols like LV's. I would be interested to know if LV keeps the design patents alive...or in other words if they legally protect their intellectual property or all got already expired... (design patent lasts in the US is for 14 years, not sure how it works in the EU & international treaties, etc.)

Agreed. IMO many things released by LV recently have been hideous but this archival logo certainly isn't one of them.

I understand your point and when I saw the logo I thought that it may be something from the archives, I also realised that it was a V and not a triangle - it still reminded me of Prada and not of Louis Vuitton. Also I wonder from which era the logo originally was, because the letters remind me of art nouveau, but the logo overall looks more like the 70ies period.

It seems to me that they are marketing it as a travel bag, with all those posts in Italian trains. It’s growing on me. Thanks for the enabling photos emmjay! I wonder if the strap is adjustable, it looks too short for x-body in the photos.

The strap is adjustable. However, I’m unsure of the strap drop length. It appears they are wearing it this way to accentuate their body frames. If you look at the last pic, the bag is a little above her waist.

Which MP did you preorder my dear. The pink or khaki?

I wonder if this set is going to be hard to obtain as the last set of bags, ie Giant Speedy, Jungle NF and b/w speedy. I am so lucky to have gotten the Giant NF (khaki) and jungle pouchette by stalking.
