No such thing as “pre-treated” vachetta, only “pre-aged.” Meaning that “pre-treated” won’t be impervious to liquid stains. It will still be prone to water stains and the like.
I have the mirror handle trunk that the vachetta is coated with something, it is still very light colour and I tried to wet it with water, it won’t absorb water. I don’t know the exact terminology, but it’s not tan like ‘pre-aged’ . Another bag is my Speedy BB VVN, also not pre-aged but won’t get water stain like new vachetta

Yes! I also thought they are some kind of bag size, but this is mini…
The ones on the show were definitely bigger. Just like the Hulk Clès :D For that piece I kinda understand the new size. The huge one (even ridiculously sized) worked well on a 180 cm model, but most Vuitton clients are around 160-165, and a Keepall 55 sized clutch would be unusable for them.

Just chiming on here to share what I got from the YK 2023 collection. The packaging made me so happy!!⚫️⚪️ These will add some fun to my monogram or black bags! My friend got the mini Pochette in canvas - and I was surprised the Kirigami was only $30USD more for 3 piece set in Epi leather! Anyone know why Epi isn’t priced way higher, especially since it’s leather? I might get one of those chain strap kits to make these wearable…

Great pieces! About your question, epi leather (like epsom or saffiano) is leather that is lower quality or has too many natural marks on it or other problems, so they stretch and stamp those hides, sometimes adding a coating, in order to hide imperfections and give a uniform appearance. The best skins, like at Hermes, are used in their more natural state as they are more “perfect”, leather like Barenia or Togo or clemence that shows the actual leather. Most people either love or hate (epi or saffiano or Epsom) those leathers, not lots of middle ground. HTH

That’s very interesting. I really love the feel of epi for certain types of bags, but overall I like leather in a more natural state. Im not a fan of epsom generally, but it can look beautiful in bright colors.

Did not know this, thanks! Hate Epi but I did find a great deal on a LV trunk made of white Epi so I kinda had to have it!

I agree- back in the day I was offered many quota bags in epsom and refused. I hate it and so did the SA at H I was working with. It does not wear well and looks like "cardboard" to me (or at least it did in the past- I have not seen it lately). Far better to stick with togo, clemence, box, swift and barenia- these also seem to hold their value. In contrast, I do like epi for certain bags and SLGs. I was tempted by the YK kirigami and would def buy but I have 4 sets and do not want another.

I‘m with you! Epsom feels plasticky and stiff to me and cardboardish. I have one wallet in it but don’t use it much. Epsom and other pressed leathers often hold structure really well and take color well, but the hand of leather for me is so important. I don’t think I ever held a bag or slg in epi, it looks a little softer. You sure you don’t want yk Kirigami for the fifth set for the win? :P

Wave 2 should launch end of March. That’s what they told official press.
I have some more images of the second drop but can’t post them public. It’s basically:
- a lot of bags with those pumpkin designs
- a lot of bags in the light blueish color with white dots
- a lot of bags in black with pinkish dots
- a lot of bags in white with reddish dots
- a lot of bags with that screaming face / potato face
- a lot of bags with the flowers on it
- those 2 pumpkin bags, but they are so expensive and limited that probably only a few will get / buy them
- and there are some new capucines which look (in my opinion) super gorgeous. They look like cloudy dot work Art (very small dots, which look like some kind of clouds) in pink or blueish ink. Super nice but not everyone’s taste I guess

Hi Emphosix! Do you know if North America will get the drop 2? I contacted one SA right before the wave 1/drop1 became available to public and he told me that North America will not get drop 2. I definitely questioned this, but didn't speak out. Thanks a lot!

For your interest: I saw a YouTube video from "Tanner Leatherstein" and he tested a felicie in epi leather and the outside leather was top grain quality, the best quality you can get!
He has a lot very interesting videos where he disturbe bags from different brands to see which quality they are! I highly recommend
